“Small but clean room. Wifi non existent.”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 24 August 2014 via mobile

Was different staying in an old Monastery, room was small but clean and pretty close to train station and walking distance to Colosseum. Wifi worked kind of first night then never again and the staff didn't seem to care. Kept saying in lobby.. Nope! Dinner was pretty bland but nice service.

We stayed here in August 2014 for two nights, myself, husband and two daughters. From reading some reviews weren't expecting too much so we were pleasantly surprised. The hotel is large and spacious, I think it wasn't too busy when we were there. The room was basic but very large and clean. Breakfast was a basic continental but nice start to the day and despite previous reviews the staff were all polite and friendly whenever we met them in the corridors or in the breakfast room.
The church that the hotel is attached to is beautiful and just across the road there are a couple of eateries if you find yourself at a loss in the evening.
This hotel is a little off the beaten track but the transport links are good, it cost us 50eur for a taxi from Fiumiccino Airport (as our shuttle didn't arrive).

Room Tip: Wifi not available in the rooms but the kids sat in the corridors on the sofa's (with other kids...

The hotel was really unique and the hotel front desk staff were friendly and had a good understanding of English language which was very helpful. If u stay here be sure to spend time on the rooftop terrace!! The down side and the reason I only gave three stars was 1) the room was small and look tired! 2) be sure to bring your own iron as none are provided in the room and are not available from reception 3) the hotel entrance is actually quite difficult to find as it's via a small door located at the side of the building and set back some distance from the main road. However the hotel has good transport links and the number 3 bus will take you straight to the colluseum. It's a 10 min walk to the nearest Metro and the 81 or 87 bus will take you in the right direction for Campo de' Fiori which is a popular night spot. For a solo traveller it's a shame the hotel does not have a better bar where it would be easier to meet fellow travellers. This hotels biggest plus feature is the novelty of staying in a church

Dear guest,

thank you for writing your opionion about your stay with us and we really appreciated it.
It's true we don't give any iron to our guest but this is done for safety reason.
About the sign on the entrance of the hotel, as you have noted, we are adjoining to one of the most important church of Rome and the laws protecting the historical sites doesn't allow us to put a big sign over the entrance.
Thanking you again for the preference you accorded to us please accept our kindest regards.

This hotel is about half an hour walk from the Colosseum but the transport links are good - trams, busses and an underground stop nearby. The building itself is a converted monastery and the adjacent church is one of the most important in Rome. Its a beautiful church and worth a visit. The hotel is large and sprawling with a very temperamental lift. Our rooms were up a small spiral staircase and not suited for people with mobility problems. The rooms were basic but clean, although the cleaning staff were extremely noisy in the early mornings. Large bathroom looking out onto the neighbourhood - tree lined avenue and church court yard.
Breakfast was disappointing - basic fare but plenty of it. Staff seemed quite detached from customer service, made no attempt to communicate, restocked breakfast supplies as required. Electricity went off during breakfast and windowless room was in darkness for around ten minutes, during which time staff made absolutely no attempt to communicate - was really quite strange.
Overall, quite a quirky place to stay. I liked the quiet neighbourhood away from the main centre. The roof terrace provided excellent views across Rome. Take your own bottle of wine up there in the evening and enjoy the peace. You certainly will not need to deal with hotel staff, noticeable only by their absence!

Room Tip: Ask for room facing front of hotel. These seemed to be better appointed.

This hotel will make you feel like you are living in the golden age of the eternal city. The hotel is attached to a gorgeous historic church, and both the church & hotel boast breathtaking architecture. Our room for 2 had 5 extremely narrow beds, making you feel as though the monks had only just vacated the space (we found this charming and not at all a bad thing!) The shower was newly updated and fantastic. Breakfast was mortadella & provolone and a flaky cornuto--a perfect start to the day. This was the ONLY hotel we stayed in in Italy that offered problem-free WiFi to guests. The location was about a 20 minute walk from the Colosseum, and quite a hike from the capo di fiori area--bring your walking shoes, or be prepared to figure out public transportation! All in all, a wonderful stay!

i promised to write a review about this Hotel .
The hotel is a very good one for people budget travelleres its not luxury but very pleasant . I had a room in front and when i looked out of the window i felt like Julia . ( romeo and Julia )
There is the church in the middle of the hotel and the first day i saw a wedding ..the second day i saw a gathering from Peru and Equador and the third day i saw so many nones i never have seen in my life.
Room was clean ( they clean in every day ) . Breakfast in poor (thats something they should work on it ) . The people at the reception both i met are excellent in their work and very very helpful maybe the nicest i have ever met and i am travelling a lot . Price is very good. City Center is not so far away you can take the metro with 1,5 euro to Piazza di Spagna or by Taxi around 8 -10 euros . The area is very nice close to it is a garden it was night open too and a Museum . I really recommend this hotel and of course Rome .....

It is actually building connected to a big church. The room is spacious and bright and big bathroom as well. Staff is helpful. Room is cleaned everyday. It is in fact much better than another 3 star hotel we stayed near Termini. It is 10 minute walk to San Giovanni metro station which we went everyday of the trip. 30 minute walk from the hotel is Colosseum. There is no laundry service in the hotel or nearby area.

We really like the hotel and recommended it to my friends coming there in October. In July we stay 4 night at 272Eur totally. Breakfast is simple at 5eur/pax and I found that it is cold breakfast available in most EU hotels. The children eat for free. And finally, the hotel offered us free breakfast for the whole trip. That is really a surprise gift.

Room Tip: Ask for a room viewing their little garden. We stayed in 106 a corner room which is big to afford 4...
