Here’s the good:
• Reasonably priced.
• Clean rooms, with high ceilings
• Private bath, no problem with hot water
• Quads available for family of 4 (4 single beds)
• 10 minutes to the San Giovanni Metro stop
• Accessible on foot to the Coloseo (25 min walk)
• Snack bars, restaurants, and grocery store very close by
• Neighborhood is safe, even at night
• Neighborhood is quiet
• Includes breakfast, consisted of the same items everyday, included rolls, pastries, breads, apples a bit past their prime, corn flakes, coffee, juice, and water. Cappuccino was available if you asked.
• Staff was attentive and helpful, i.e. extra towels, quilts
• Includes a small room safe (large enough for netbook, iPad, etc. a standard laptop won’t fit)
• Small refrigerator (like you had in college)
• Nice view from the rooftop
• Pictures on hotel website were accurate (no surprises!)
Here’s the not so good:
• Our room was cold (but the requested quilts kept us warm)
• Water tastes funny
• Breakfast was unimaginative, and became monotonous after 6 days
• Quirky elevator
• Flimsy pillow
• Hard mattress (could be a positive for some)
• Internet service weak (not possible to Skype call), 3 EU for 2 hours, 5 EU for 5 hours
All in all, we would stay here again. The not-so-goods did not diminish our positive experience.

Those looking for a regular hotel along the lines of Hilton, Holiday Inn etc may be disappointed, but this is a great quirky choice of hotel in Rome. The hotel is an extension to the church, and the decor reflects this. Since we we part of a group we saw several rooms: the rooms on the first floor are generally very large with high ceilings, whereas those on the second floor are built into the roof and are therefore smaller. All rooms have a very 'rustic' feel, with basic furniture and decoration, which may sound negative but we enjoyed it - it was part of the character of the hotel. All rooms I saw had a modern refurbished en-suite bathroom with shower, not a bath.
Breakfast is a buffet, of good quality but limited - pastries, bread & conserves, cereal, cold meats, tea, coffee. There is a great Cafe across the road with friendly staff and good food, and like many italian cafes they do a cracking hot chocolate!
The hotel is not particularly central, but there are a couple of Metro stations within 5 minute walk.

The experience at this hotel was absolutely perfect! The location is at the Aurelian Wall giving you stunning views of the wall and just a 2-3 minute walk to San Giovvani in Laterno - the Church from which we were told the Pope officiates over Rome. We stayed in room 50 which was very large by European (and to an extent even some American Cities) standards. The room we were in was the only room on the fifth floor which was accesible by lift until the fourth floor and then a very short climb with luggage that was no problem (concierge did offer to assist, but it was unnecessary). To begin with the Domus Sessoriana is not the Four Seasons, it is exactly as is advertised an extension of the Santa Croce in Gerrussaleme (sp?) Church. To access our room we walked through the foyer to the breathtaking Church each day. When not celebrating liturgy the Church is open to see. We were told by our driver from the airport that Romans take great offense to tourists disregarding the significance of the Churches and "going picture crazy" out of respect my wife and I decided to take only memories with us while inside the many churches. The Father and the sisters seemed to have an unspoken appreciation for visitors doing the like - only a suggestion though. Breakfast is included in the room and is a wonderful spread of cold meats, breads, fruit, yogurt, juice, cereals, and milk. If none of that is to your liking there is a fantastic cafe/bakery/bar directly across the street and about a 1 minute walk. We found ourselves here multiple times a day and could not get enough of their smiles and delicious foods and wines. There also is a restaurant, Ristorante Pizzeria Santa Croce di Giovino e Nino - the carbonarra is awesome. Two entrees each, a bottle of wine and water, dessert and bread were about 35 euros. The only complaint, as non-smokers, we might have about the hotel was the fairly intense smell of ciggarette smoke during the night. I came to the conclusion that either the down stairs occupants, or maybe an employee lounge had smokers. But one day out in Rome and you find this is part of the culture, EVERYONE seems to smoke. It was a great time to stop and realize we were in a new country and quickly stopped paying attention to it. I am shocked at the low reviews of this hotel - the location, staff, and the building alone have us already planning our next trip back to this same hotel. I forgot to mention the bus directly in front of the hotel goes to the Colloseum/Forum and also to the Vatican and Spanish Steps and right back to your front door, there is a tabachi across the street to buy bus tickets. Can't wait to go back.

The location of the hotel is quite good – but the management and reception desk service is not acceptable.
It took 3 days to repair the heating and the last two nights were a disaster. We had a group of youths in the next two rooms. During the early hours of the first night we confronted them personally twice, asking them to please stop their unsocial behaviour. The following morning we informed the reception desk about this problem. We were promised that reception would talk to this group and furthermore we were advised to contact the reception desk directly should this happen again.
Throughout the following night, the guests in these two rooms continued with their extremely antisocial behaviour. We followed the advice given to us and phoned reception directly. Over the course of the night it took us 4 phone calls to the reception desk and 2 personal confrontations with the guests until the receptionist decided to come upstairs and talk to these guests. At one point – when phoning reception - my partner even asked the receptionist to call the police because loud screams were heard from one of these rooms and we feared that a personal violation was being committed.

Discussing this issue with the receptionist in the morning, it transpired that we were not the only guests who complained. I have written to the manager of the hotel (Mr A Grsi) who – after one week – has still not responded. In short, Sessariona is very happy to take your money but when it comes to fulfilling obligations from their side, they seem to be unwilling to do so.

What better foyer than an entry to the basilica! The accommodations were beautiful, clean, quiet and had easy access to all attractions of Rome. A great place for cappuccino was right across the street. Breakfast was included and very adequate. 24 hr desk service was nice to have. I felt safe and secure as well.

Stayed here last summer for two weeks alone and came back for one night on my honeymoon as a stay over before flying to Ireland. Very safe, clean and reasonably priced room with good breakfast.

Yes it has a unique ambiance being attached to a major Rome church, but you are staying in the hotel section, with a 140 Euro rack rate on the cheaper rooms that we were allocated. The bedrooms were tatty with peeling wallpaper, scuffed furniture and really noisy with the constant ambulance sirens day and night. The bathroom was tiny, water at best lukewarm. The continental breakfast, as previously commented by other tripadvisor members, was dull, dull, dull with no variety all week: still the same green apples the only fresh fruit item. There is no lounge area, other than a seat in reception. A real shame, as a freshen up of the rooms, an attempt to improve breakfasts and provision of a guest lounge area would make it a whole lot better place to stay. Most of our group felt the same, as did other guests.
