“Small hotel near Via Margutta, convenient to shopping, dining and walking everywhere."”
Reviewed 8 July 2010

Although I associated it with writers, once among the world’s most brilliant, who’d drunk themselves into self-parody and premature death, Via Margutta is my favorite street in Rome. Whenever I’m in Rome - and admittedly it’s not that often - I make a point of walking down that beautiful, cobblestone street with its galleries and shops and looking carefully at Number 30, at the balcony where – if what Truman Capote wrote is true – his pet raven, Lola, perched on the edge of the stone balustrade and took her daily bath in a silver soup dish. Number 30 Villa Margutta does not rent out rooms, a few blocks away, on Via Dei Creci, the Hotel Mozart does. The selling point was the roof garden, and it did not disappoint. Lovely, intimate, three-level garden has rooftop bar with magnificent views.
The room was somewhat small, but immaculate, with good linens and a nice fresco over the very comfortable bed. Two lights were out, including my reading light. The management said they'd replace the bulbs, but did not. And neither my husband nor I could figure out in three days how to regulate the water temperature in the jazuzzi shower. The management didn't help there, either. But small points, really, when compared to the perfect location, which by the way, is across the street from a music conservatory from which (during school hours) emanate sounds of opera singers practicing Mozart. And don't let the thought of rolling your suitcase down a cobblestone street bother you. The entrance is just a few steps from the Corso.

You can walk to the spanish steps, trevi, piazza navona, pantheon etc etc.The famous shopping street "via del corso",is at the end of the lane.Lively area many restaurants around the area.super food. Can walk in under 10 mins to the nearest metro 'spagna'.
As for the hotel, well the toilet was very tiny, very very tiny...the room was with barely any light, good decor though.Breakfast was good.Staff was decent...and the guys at the reception were moody.Sometimes helpful and at other times not..On the whole a decent hotel, but next time we will stay around the same area but in a better rated hotel...

We stayed 4 nights in the Vivaldi Luxury Suites attached to the Hotel Mozart in Rome. We had wonderful service. The rooms are extremely large and furnished to a very high standard. We had a large balcony. You cannot stay without a visit to the rooftop bar at Hotel Mozart - simply stunning. Brilliant location, walking distance to metro and all the main attractions. You might want to note our room was next to a music conservatory, we loved it, but it might not be to everyone's liking. We would love to go back.

My partner and i rocked up to Roma, with no bookings!!And no guidebook!!We did some quick review searches online, and came across the Vivaldi Suites. What concerns me ,always,in any city with old buildings,is the general poor quality of the buildings and the cramped interiors, the creaky bathrooms, the noise from the streets, and the smells!

We were delighted and pleasantly surprised to find that our suite, which i think was No.6,in the furthest corner, was spectacular and great VFM-it was new, clean, with lots and lots of room,a clean, newly fitted out bathroom with a big tub and separate shower cubicle, which was also spacious. It overlooked an inner courtyard like space of some sort,so there was no noise. It was on a main busy street,so you stepped out into life at your doorstep! And,it was super secure-with entry codes and keys.

We thought that the fact that Hotel Mozart, the parent company, was around the corner, would mean we would be neglected or ignored by the staff, but it simply wasnt true.In any case,we wanted for nothing.A carton of water bottles purchased by us from the Deli downstairs did the trick.I cant recall if there was room service.

The only bugbears are carting the luggage up a flight of stairs(A porter did the honours when we checked in)AND the Vampire, who sits at the Hotel Mozart night desk, whose standard reply to everything is NO.But who needed him, anyways? :-)

We stayed at the Hotel Mozart for the first leg of our Honeymoon. The rooms were clean and the hotel has a great location for exploring Rome on foot. At night, we would go out to eat, grab some gelato on the way back to the hotel, and then hang out on the rooftop terrace. The bar staff is friendly, and it is a great place to enjoy a panoramic view of the city skyline with a bottle of pinot grigio!

Great location. The suites next door, part of the Mozart, called Vivladi Suites, are wonderfully roomy with personalized service. The location on Via del Corso, is very convenient for walks to the Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain, Piazza de Popolo, many shops and great restaurants

The hotel has a great location between the Piazza del Popolo and the Spanish Steps.
Great shopping close ....restaurants are for tourists but passable. The hotel and the room were fine. The problem is the indifference of the staff towards the clientele. The gals that serve breakfast are fantatstic but the front desk staff is very cool and indifferent. I speak fluent Italian so its not a language problem. We travel Italy extensively and will always try to find the place that makes us feel welcome.
