“Amazing place to stay, Quiet and peaceful”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 8 April 2014

Had booked this place online so was a bit skeptical about it, however once you arrive you know you made the right decision, the place is almost like home, comfy rooms, quiet residential neighborhood. The place is located about 30 mins from Roma termini (Bus/Metro) or about 15 mins drive from Fiumicino airport. To get here from roma termini, best is to take a bus 705 or something which directly reaches navigator, from there u need to walk on foot for about 5-7 mins down the road to reach the hotel. There aren't any good places to eat around the hotel, but the hotel does have a nice restaurant which has decent 3 course meal.

Breakfast is nice, but only cold options (we are used to hot breakfast). The staff is very friendly and nice. There is a Carrefour in the neighborhood, so you can stock up some ready to eats from there as an option too.

The rooms are spacious compared to Rome standards, cleanliness is decent, but not top notch. The area around the hotel is nice for a quiet evening stroll.

Room Tip: Take room facing the front of the hotel to avoid noise from the rear residential apartments.

Next to the Catacombes Domitilla lies this nice calm 3-star hotel, with a small garden, clean rooms, friendly staff, speaking English and German from what I could hear. Good value for the Money. Dining room glass walled towards the entrance/garden area.
Cons are the distance to the citycenter and access via a crowded regular busline some 700 m from the hotel, or taxi. Check out time a little early 10.30.

Arrived at the hotel around 10.30pm and was greeted and shown to our room by Giovanni who was very helpful. The room was a double, spacious enough for two and had an en-suite. Very clean, but bed was uncomfortable and were only given 1 pillow each.. Wouldn't recommend to tourists wanting to be close to the main attractions/historic buildings etc, as the hotel is a good 1/2 hour bus ride from the hustle and bustle, but bus stop is close enough. The reception and bar close at 12pm, there are only news channels in English on the TV and nothing to do in the hotel... Also, all of the walls are very thin and you can hear everything; cleaning staff are noisy.
Had an enjoyable trip but don't think we'll be going back.

Stayed here for two days as we visited rome , hotel is nice and clean but religion is everywhere in the hotel even in the rooms where big crosses are hanged above beds ! There is chapel upstairs but it's all good and peaceful . Over all you get what you pay for but in my opinion it's a good choice and staff are very friendly and the buffet breakfast is good with lots of choices to choose from .will stay agAin .

I stayed at the Kolping Hotel Casa Domitilla only for one night. I had some business in the area so I took a room there. I would not reccommend to stay in that area to tourists who are looking to mainly visit the central part of Rome, since it is a bit far away. One can take a bus to the train station or other locations in the city centre, but it takes about 30 mins and with a high level of traffic it can also take more. Furthermore, in order to take the bus from the hotel, one has to reach a road nearby, hence one has to walk for about 500 meters to get there. When having some business in the area, this hotel could be a good choice. It is important to notice that religion is involved in the hotel concept; a big crucified Christ was hanging over my bed and a chapel is inside the hotel. Nevertheless, it is a hotel, not a monastery, so if you are not bothered by those couple of things, which are not invasive, go for it. The atmosphere is very peaceful and silent, which is something really hard to find in Rome. I got a single room with a single bed. The room was small but sufficient, the bed could have been newer, but it was ok, at least for one night. The room was clean. The bathroom was really small, and the shower was a bit old, which was the only thing that actually bothered me. Buffet breakfast was good and varied. The staff was helpful, friendly and multilingual. There is a big free parking lot and a garden. I got a good price for the room, and I think I'd go again for one or two nights if I had business in the area and could score a good deal for the room.

I stayed in this hotel for a night with my wife. We were greeted by a very cheerful Giovanni at the reception; a very helpful guy. Due to some confusion we had accidently booked in a room with two seperate beds but he helped us out in solving the issue. The restaurant was closed but he guided us to another one nearby. The rooms are clean and good. The breakfast was good although not very tasty.
Very economical place.

Casa Domitilla is no longer a religious guest house, but a really good 3 star hotel with lots of 4 star ammenities, including excellent AC, a 24 staffed reception, a very nice breakfast buffet. Yes, the shower stalls are tiny, but the towels are super nice and big which you learn to appreciate when you travel a lot in italy. Most of our clients love the location right next to the catacombs and nearby to some really good restaurants. There is bus from Termini and a cab ride to most places of interest is less than 15 Euros during the day. I look forward to staying there again for our Incantato tour groups and myself.
