It was quite easy to catch a bus from Terminus down to the hotel. It within walking distance to everything. Great stay, great value.

We stayed here after booking at Residenza Navona First and being lead by Nadia, our hostess, a block away to San Pantaleo. The rooms are on the fourth floor accessed by a quaint lift. Our room was modern and clean with hot water and a basket of packaged fruit and nutrition bars. Breakfast is a serve yourself table in the hall with bread for toasting, a coffee machine and different kinds of cereal. The location is great as it is only a few minutes from Piazza Navona. No luxuries, but I would stay there again.

Room Tip: The 6 rooms all appeared the same

We stayed here during our first trip to Rome. The location was great, very close to Piazza Navona, and within walking distance to many of Rome's main sites. The service was very good. Nadia was extremely helpful with everything. I would like thank her and the owner for the special attention I received during our stay at their B&B. The room was comfortable, clean, and very spacious. The quality of the bed was the best we experienced during our entire trip to Europe. It was also extremely convenient to have free WIFI in the room. The only thing we didn't like as much was the quality of the breakfast, which consisted of individually wrapped pastries, crackers, and other snacks for a quick breakfast. This is definitely an area they should improve, as it takes away from the overall charm and service of the B&B.

My wife and I stayed at the Residenza San Pantaleo for 4 nights and absolutely loved it. If you are looking for that feeling that you are living amongst the Romans, then this is the place to stay. This is not your typical hotel room, but a more authentic way of staying in Rome. You have everything you need while staying in the room. When you leave the building you are right in the middle of the action. Just steps away from Piazza Navona. My wife and I walked to any of the surrounding ancient sites. It is a safe and very nice area to stay. You can't beat the free WiFi. Nadia was super helpful, and she arranged a driver to pick us up from the airport. After flying for many hours and being pretty tired, it was nice to see the driver at the airport with our name on a sign. He was very courteous and explained us about some ancient sites we saw along the way. Rome is a wonderful place to stay and we are planning to come back soon.

Over the past 8 years, we've stayed here 4 times. I'll shop around next time. It is in a good location and reasonably priced, but clearly the care given the residenzia has deteriorated. Just little things like torn curtains, mold in the bathroom (hell on allergies), loose toilet seat, etc. In the past there has been someone around periodically besides the very nice man who was cleaning but didn't speak english. We had made arrangements for the time we'd be checking in, but no one was there and we had a wait for someone. Overall? it's not being taken care of like it was, but could become a great place again with very little effort.

I searched extensively for the perfect place to stay in Rome, based on an Italian friend's recommendation that I stay near Piazza Navona or Campo dei Fiori. Because it is an ideal location, it tends to be expensive. However I found Residenza San Pantaleo for about $120/night for two and the reviews were mostly good.

I was highly satisfied with my stay. You must know, though, that this is a residenza, meaning it's not a full-service hotel with a reception area and all. They know when you will arrive and take great care of you at arrival, but there is no one at reception all day. For assistance, you go to a sister location, where Nadia is more than happy to offer any services you may need.

The room was basic but not as cramped as I have found in, say, Paris. They supplied an electric pitcher to boil hot water, some teabags, sugar, and instant coffee. This was a nice perk have for Americans who are used to coffeemakers in the traditional hotel room. There was also a small refrigerator and the ever-important safe. The room was clean, the shower was hot, and there was a working towel warmer. There is free wireless in each room (there may have been computer access, but I don't think it was readily available) so you can access the Internet via your smartphone.

In terms of noise, the window is well insulated. Only when the streets were nearly empty and a lone car would soar down the road (we did not face the main drag, but the building is on that street) would the sound be disturbing, and this was mainly in the very early hours. You could occasionally hear other guests, and the one drawback of not having reception is you could not complain to anyone about a loud TV late at night. I was awakened on more than one occasion by other residents who seemed unconscious of the fact that others were sleeping.

The breakfast a few doors down at Jerry's was very simple -- juice, cappuccino, and a pastry -- but the service was lovely and you could always order more very inexpensively (1 euro for most pastries) or exchange the croissant for something else. My son got a chocolate stick every day instead of the croissant, for example.

Nadia will arrange for you to be picked up at the airport and can arrange for your return as well at a reasonable (and trusted!) price. We arrived very tired at around 9 a.m. and our room was not ready, but the assistant offered us to lie down in another room until our room was ready, which set us right for the rest of the day.

From this location you can walk pretty much everywhere -- Vatican, Colosseum (a little further, but not bad), Trastavere, Spanish Steps, etc. You need to take a bus to get to Termini, but the bus is right in front to take you there. Anyhow, there is not much tourism near Termini. Many restaurants/gellateries nearby. I recommend this location and this hotel very highly and would definitely stay there again.

One thing: the rooms could use a box of tissues (e.g., Kleenex facial tissues). Residenza San Pantaleo is very responsive. so I imagine they will start stocking them immediately after this review is posted.
