I'm glad to get back again in Rome especially at Residenza San Pantaleo which is like a second home for me. Rooms very clean, very friendly staff, great location. definitely recommend this place to everyone!

Room Tip: Definitely recommend this place to everyone!

San Pantaleo basically occupies one floor of a historic building in the San Pantaleo Piazza, which is literally steps away from the famous Piazza da Navona. You just can't get any more central and convenient than this! You can walk everywhere! (In fact, I would never advise driving in this city when you are here for tourism). This is a minimal service hotel. There is no one at the front desk most of the time. You basically inform the staff when you will be arriving and they ensure that someone is there for your check in but otherwise you almost never see a soul. The best part of the San Pantaleo is the rooms with 25-ft ceilings (not all have high ceilings, so be sure to request one of these if this appeals to you). Ultimately, if you are looking for a place that is charming, convenient, and reasonably priced, this is the place for you. I wouldn't recommend to travelers who like their room service etc. as this is definitely no frills.

Room Tip: ask for a room with a high ceiling

It's hard to beat such a great location, we walked to all the main attractions and there's a popular wine bar just round the corner. We were lucky to get a large room with a view of campo defiora, and it was immaculately cleaned each day. On the down side we hadn't noticed it didn't include breakfast, something we'd become accustomed to for the past 3 weeks around italy! the shower was pretty awful as it was set too high and sprayed all over the floor. We struggled to find it but once you're there no problems. We were also generously left an exterior key all day to leave our luggage there. Great for an easy going self service option in a perfect spot.

To all customers: when booking a room be careful as there are two properties this hotel offers. I believe the one in the main building is better and more modern.

NOT ADVISED FOR:
- people who prefer a lot of space in their rooms,
- who prefer 24/7 assistance or concierge
- whoever finds it strange to have a hotel with not many amenities (ie restaurant/bar etc)

ADVISED FOR:
- young couples (not honeymoon couples)
- single people

it may be a bit more bothersome for older people and families as space in the room is limited.
Overall a very clean well kept hotel. All that is needed is there. Clean modern bathrooms and clean modern rooms (these are the rooms in the main building).

The staff was always very helpful, and always ready to solve the problem as soon as possible (the safe in the room was broken so asked to repair it, repaired within the next day!)

Hope this helped

Firstly, small room, but they say in Rome that is to be expected. Furniture is very nice. No carpet in the room and no slippers, and it is December and it was raining a little, so not worm and not dry enough to walk without slippers on cold floor (so bring them with you). There was an air conditioner but we couldn't find a remote. Room was very clean and they cleaned it every day. But they don't change towels every day (and that is noted on the bathroom door). Stuff was very helpful and pleasant. Bathroom was very bad, to small to turn around in it and there is now picture on booking.com of that bathroom, don't know why. Unfortunately I didn't take a picture, I forgot. Pressure of water was poor. What we didn't expect at all was that hotel doesn't have it's own building. You go in big building, go on forth floor, and then through one door, and you enter a hallway with tiny reception (where somebody comes only by need), place to make coffee and tea, and along the hallway there are few rooms. That door is actually this hotel, on other floor we saw one more hotel, and rest of the doors are probably residential apartments. There are two sets of rooms in two separate buildings that belong to this hotel. One is in main building, one showing in the first picture on tripadvisor (with the monument in front), and other is behind the corner, at the Corso Vittorio Emanuele 187. So they are minute walk from each other, but when we arrived they direct us to that other building (although on booking we didn't reserve room in other building). Room they showed us was very unpleasant. Again, good furniture, even big enough, but to come in you have to climb a really steep and long stairway, and there was only one small window (but 20x30cm small!) in whole room. We asked for other building (when she explained about two buildings and why I didn't see that room or entrance on pictures at all), and she put us in other building with no problem. At night, we didn't hear noise from the outside, but everything else we heard like it is going on right next to us. Everything in the hallway and especially from the apartment above us. Location is perfect. You are by Piazza Navona and Pantheon and withing a walking distance from Vatican, Colosseum, Fontana di Trevi, Piazza di Spagna, So it is a perfect location.

Room Tip: Be careful about which building your room is in.
