For what we paid it was good value.
We had booked a double room. When we got there a twin had been reserved the receptionist was lovely and changed the booking (without us asking) to a family room. This was on the fifth floor.
The lift was being fixed at the time - although I don't know if I would have got in it anyway as it reminded me of the tower of terror in florida - an open lift you can see through as it moves up and down.
The stairs were a bit of a climb but we chose to use them during all of our trip.
The room we were given had a desk, small tv, bunk beds and a double bed. Plus the very good air conditioning. The bathroom needed a bit of a makeover and the shower door kept sticking. I got stuck inside and had to get my hubby to let me out!
The corridor was being refurbished during our stay but we weren't disrupted by it. From reading other reviews it seems that they are gradually renovating the hotel so maybe ask for a room on a lower floor.
The hotel was a good base for exploring the city and within walking distance to the majority of attractions. The receptionist gave us a free map and mapped out a suggested walking route for us.
There was also a very convenient safe in the room which we used to keep out passport .etc
Just don't go expecting anything other than a bed a bathroom and some air con and you won't be disappointed.
