“Nice hotel”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 14 June 2014 via mobile

Stayed there for 3 nights recently. Hotel rooms are nice and spacious. Hotel staff are friendly and helpful. It's a tad far from the city centre but the nightlife there is pretty vibrant. I went out looking for a place to have a beer and every single bar and restaurant is packed at 1130pm at night! Overall a nice hotel.

My daughter and I had a 5 day break in Rome over Easter and would highly recommend the River. Chateau, a boutique 4 star hotel in the Flaminia area of the city. With a Roma Pass and Vatican pass we had 3 days unlimited transport access, hop on hop off tours and entrance (including must-have line passes) for all the big tourist attractions.

The hotel is about 2.5 miles out of the centre which made it pleasant, in a busy little area full of bars and restaurants. The hotel is small, but beautifully decorated in marble, Italianate style. Breakfast was plentiful and happy hour at the bar was very good value from 6-10pm with a constant stream of snacks supplied.

If you're looking for a good value break with good standard accommodation and service, this hotel should not be overlooked.

We stayed here for 4 nights on an Easter Break. We upgraded to the Junior Suite which was a comfortable size for us (2 adults and 2 older children) the hotel has traditional type furnishings and the room was fitted out well with a superb bathroom. There are some signs of wear and tear, but nothing major.
Excellent breakfast choice and lovely freshly prepared coffee to your liking.
There is a large choice of restaurants nearby, but I would avoid the one next door - La Lira (very poor service and average food)
The staff are very helpful and friendly and can give advice on the area, local restaurants and the best way to your favourite attractions.
The best way into town is to cross the footbridge over the river and get on the number 2 tram, take this all the way to the end (about 15 minutes) then you can walk or get on the Metro.

Room Tip: Worth upgrading to the Junior Suite, rooms on upper floors have a balcony.

This hotel was one of the the best that I have stayed at. We were very lucky to book a junior suite for a reasonable price. It was pure luxury and the bathroom was to die for. All marble with very beautiful artistic touches. The breakfast was very good!!! I will only stay here when I am in Rome.

We arrived at the hotel and we checked in.This didn't take as long as we thought it would of.The rooms are very clean and also very spacious. However in the junior suite there is no tea and coffee making facilites as it says there is on SOME websites. The hotel is close to a bus stop which goes pass a few metro dtations on the way.I'd reccomend taking the bus instead of the tram as the buses are frequent amd quicker. The food in the hotels restaraunt is disapointing (EVENING MEALS) In the restaraunt where you eat at night the service is a bit poor and the atmosphere is also a little boring. The other restaraunt next door (Brandos) is far better and cheaper. There is a mini bar in the rooms but these are expensive.Instead
you can go to a small supermarket just around the corner. The breakfast is more pleasing than the evening meals but it's continental only. The staff are very helpful and friendly and i would definetly come back.

We stayed at this hotel during the 6 nations rugby match. The hotel was a superb, all the staff were very friendly and helpful at all times. We were offered an upgrade on the room, it was a mini suite with a lovely terrace well worth it. The pictures on the internet of the hotel is exactly the same. This hotel was near the stadium however only a 40 min walk to the centre of Rome. We would highly recommend this hotel to our friends and plan to return during the summer month.

Before booking, I read great reviews of this hotel, which swayed me to book it. But we found it to be disappointing.
Good points were it's location in relation to stadio Olympico, as we had gone to watch the England match there. But we had booked a triple room and were given a very small double with a trundle bed scrunched into a corner, the room was far too small.
The breakfast that everyone raves about is a very average continental breakfast with really terrible coffee and the hot food ran out every morning and was not replaced. The breakfast room was also not large enough to accommodate the guests, which caused long waits.
There was no hot water for 3 out of the 4 days we stayed and our complaints about this were treated with contempt.
The bar was shut at midnight on Saturday and they would not serve as room service, since they show a rating as four star, this is unacceptable.
The staff were pretty nice, but ineffectual, overall I could not recommend this hotel.
