“Canceled confirmed reservation without reason”
Reviewed 31 October 2013

I have booked a room at Carlo Alberto's House for about 2 month ago.
A week ago I got a very harsh email telling me, that they had a problem with my credit card.
As I know now, this was a lie, because they had tried to cancel my reservation this way.
But my credit card was OK, so they told me, they want more money.

I have booked the room for a total amount of about 250€. I have a confirmed reservation for the room with this prices, but now they want 375€.That's 150%!! And it's is not OK to increase the price AFTER booking.

Now they have canceled my reservation and I'm looking for a new room because I have already booked my flight and everything else. So, be warned and don't trust them.

Located in the heart of Rome, one step away from every cultural place that have made this town a dream to visit, this b&b is clean, with a familiar vibe and lovely people that run it. I will come back here every time I can!

Located blocks away from Termini Station.
Nice and clean, quiet building, super nice breakfast and very friendly/helpful staff.
Wi-Fi, fridge, safe... what else can you need?
When visiting Rome with a budget in mind, this is your best choice!

A lovely and very friendly little B&B just 5 minutes walk from the central station. We stayed there for 3 nights. They do a good generous breakfast that as well as the regular cereal, toast etc includes something different each day, sometimes home-cooked delights. We walked to all the major sites from the hotel, where the Coloseum isn't all that far away. Worth noting that it can be a little tricky to find as it only has a small plaque on the door, but Google Maps helps. It's also on the 4th floor but there is an elevator.

As per the above title, Carlo Alberto B&B provided exceptional service, centralized location and a very affordable price.

Pros: service, location (5 minutes from Termini station - Rome's main station), affordable price, home made breakfast.

Cons: The surrounding area isn't all that pleasant, little bit dirty and somewhat of a poorer/ethnic suburb. However the hotel is very safe and secure.
The reception is on the 6th floor and the lift is extremely old and small (I could only fit inside the lift when standing sideways). So I had to carry all our luggage up to the 6th floor (intense workout)!
The breakfast could be bigger with more choice (however cannot complain for the price).

All in all, excellent accommodation thank you

Thank you for your feedback, we would like to correct information that Carlo Alberto House is located on the 4th floor with elevator to the 5th floor or if you want to walk, we remind our customers that the building being old, dating back to the time Umberto I, has no lift to the first floor. But we are not on the sixth floor that we want to repeat. We apologize for the surrounding area that does not depend on us but that over time has certainly improved, Rome, as we think other capitals, it is definitely multi-ethnic but perhaps because of it combines the ancient traditions and our cuisine and the various ospitaità communities included in the territory. For breakfast we have the opportunity, at the request of the customer to organize breakfasts particular, we try however by the sweet and salty to satisfy many customers as possible, if you could give us advice to improve quanlche we are happy to hear it. Thanks hope to improve again (thanks to you his advice) and to have our guest again.

It was absolutely wonderful. They made us feel really welcome and comfortable. It's location is the best: right next to vittorio emanuele metro station and 5' walk from termini. Highly recommend it, if you want a budget and enjoyable stay.

We have recently speeded a week in Carlo Alberto B&B while we were looking for an apartment in Rome (as we are moving here for a year). The location was perfect for our purpose, as Carlo Alberto is very well communicated: vittorio emanuele metro station (mentro A) is just in front of the B&B and Termini metro/train station is just 5 minutes on foot. Moreover we could walk to many places in “centro storico” (Colosseum is only 10 minutes from there!!)
Since the first night we felt like at home: the room was clean, comfortable and cozzy! And Anna, Letizia and Andrea were tremendously welcoming and help us a lot in the difficult task of finding a house in this city!
Thanks a lot! Martí
