Reviewed 14 April 2014

We stayed 4 nights in April 2014 at Alberto's House. The location of the place is very good - although this area is called by the local the "china town". But no worries ! Its full of friendly people and good chinese and indian restaurants. There is a metro station just in front of the B&B so all the important sightseeings are easy to reach. The room we had, was big but very simple. The standard is not very high compared to the price. We paid 100€ per night. Thats why I was expecting a bit more. The "Ikea" bedlines were clean but they look already very used. Everything is very basic and a bit old fashion. There is a small fridge in the room but it makes so much noise, that we had to turn it off for the night, because we could not sleep.Breakfast ok, but nothing extraordinary. The staff very friendly. One thing to remember is that the check in is only between 12.00-15.00. If you arrive later you have to inform the hotel manager. We didn't read our booking reservation carefully, so the hotel sent us an reminder. After receiving the sms we have called the hotel to inform them, that we will arrive at 18.00. The manager was not very happy and we had a little "nervous" conversation on phone. But finally all was fine.We checked in at 18.00 :) Anyway! Rome is a beautiful city and we had a great time there!

Thank you for your feedback, we just want to make some clarification, we bet on the cleanliness and comfort at a reasonable price (100 Euro for three people!!) April high season!!, On our check in for it is written everywhere for correctness, and we are grateful to all the customers who contact us at least one day in advance to avoid disappointment, in his case it seems to me that it has been contacted by us after the completion of the check in order not to leave it unattended and know that arrived in the evening some that shocked the organization of those who work but still we waited and given the opportunity to check-in. Recall that the Carlo Alberto House is a bed and breakfast alberto not a 4 star hotel with 24-hour reception. For breakfast you can always improve, we also own breakfasts on request, normally is available in both sweet and salty things, we remember that we speak of breakfast and no lunch!!
We hope to have you as our guest again with our news thank you

I have booked a room at Carlo Alberto's House for about 2 month ago.
A week ago I got a very harsh email telling me, that they had a problem with my credit card.
As I know now, this was a lie, because they had tried to cancel my reservation this way.
But my credit card was OK, so they told me, they want more money.

I have booked the room for a total amount of about 250€. I have a confirmed reservation for the room with this prices, but now they want 375€.That's 150%!! And it's is not OK to increase the price AFTER booking.

Now they have canceled my reservation and I'm looking for a new room because I have already booked my flight and everything else. So, be warned and don't trust them.

A lovely and very friendly little B&B just 5 minutes walk from the central station. We stayed there for 3 nights. They do a good generous breakfast that as well as the regular cereal, toast etc includes something different each day, sometimes home-cooked delights. We walked to all the major sites from the hotel, where the Coloseum isn't all that far away. Worth noting that it can be a little tricky to find as it only has a small plaque on the door, but Google Maps helps. It's also on the 4th floor but there is an elevator.
