“Molto Bene!”
Reviewed 30 October 2011

Lovely autentico, charming. Here are just some of the staff names - Anna, Daniel, Daniela, Roberto, Patrizia - and they are all wonderful, helpful, and friendly. The layout is so unique, and because other businesses and residences share the building with Hotel Oceania, there is a feeling that you are actually living in Roma. The building is connected to a church and a church choir and opera singing filled the spaces. The courtyard satisfies the imagination of Italia with wonderfully colored stone, flowers, hanging vines, open sky, with laundry strung outside apartment windows. The breezeway has small tables and chairs and is located where the one-of-a-kind elevator brings people up and down. Indulge yourself at breakfast: warm, round, popover-like bread loaf served fresh from the oven onto your plate and a buffet bar of cakes and cheeses, honeys and jams. The capuccino is fabuloso and will probably have you drinking more of it than you intended. Easy access to public transportation, both buses and trains, as well as taxis and other necessities like ATMs and sandwich shops. Highly recommend!

Room Tip: If you are two singles traveling together you may want to upgrade to a triple for the extra room.

My friend and I arrived in Rome without the third member of our party (she was flying standby and had to wait until the next day to leave the United States) who had actually reserved our room and the only one of us that had ever been to Europe. I was, to say the least, more than a little anxious after losing a night's sleep on the flight and unfamiliarity with our surroundings. We arrived unscathed at the Hotel Oceania and Anna greeted us warmly and allowed us to store our luggage (it was only 10:30a.m.) until our room could be readied. We returned about 1:00 and our room was ready. It was one of the cleanest room I have ever encountered. We very much enjoyed our stay, encountering numerous American travelers on the terrace. The staff at the hotel could not have been more helpful, even passing on a message (via email) from our stranded friend as to her plans to join us tjhe next day in Tuscany.

Hotel Oceania occupies the third floor of a four story building. There is just a small sign indicating you've arrived. Take a one person elevator to the third floor and prepare to be greeted by the friendly helpful staff! When we arrived, our Italian cell phone was out of minutes but all the instructions were in English. The front desk clerk cleared all that up and we were back in business! Also, while we were checking in, two Americans who had checked out earlier in the day came back to change into traveling clothes. They we unaware that they had left jewelry and their cell phone in their room after check out. The maid had made the discovery and the items were returned to them. They were so surprised and so were we! The room wasn't tiny but just the right amount of space and beautifully appointed. Breakfast came with the cost of the room and it was one of the best we had on our trip. Oceania is located near Termni train station, metro and bus stops and you are near (and within walking distance from) to all the tourist sights. We got a reduced nightly rate when we showed our Rick Steves book and paid in cash!

This place was recommended to us and was a little more than I'd hope to spend, but after looking around at other options I decided the location and extra comforts were worth paying for. The staff were brilliantly friendly and helpful. They have advice on how to get the best deals on tickets, taxis and meals. The room was enormous and really comfortable.
The breakfast was continental and fresh, with lovely fresh coffee!
The towels are odd to us Australians who love our fluffy, Egyptian cotton - but when in Rome.... They are more like v large tea towels!
The service was excellent, the beds were comfy, the room was spacious, the wifi access was fast and efficient from the landing and the coffee was lovely.
The shower could have been a bit more consistent in temperature but that's not an Oceania problem that's something that's we've suffered our entire European trip!

My wife and I spent 4 nights in this hotel and very much enjoyed the stay. Our room was No. 11 and was large, comfortable, very clean and had a good sized bathroom. The A/C worked well and had a remote control. The staff were very friendly and spoke good English and were helpful on any questions we had. Free WiFi which we used while sitting on the patio terrace enjoying wine which they have to sell or bring your own, no problem. The hotel is in a great quiet location off the main tourist attractions but easy walking distance to the Metro, Termini station and many major sites for us. Many bars and restaurants and a grocery store are close by. Breakfast was good with a selection of pastries, tea, coffee,,juice, cheese, a delicious large bun and packages of small bread style toasts. Plenty for us.

This is my first visit to Italy! The Oceania was our very first evening spent in Rome & it set the tone for the rest of the trip! excellent staff! the view from our huge window, breathtaking! our street was nearby everything, especially the termini in Rome which was great because we left the following morning aboard the Trentitalia for Florence! I travelled with 3 other girls, the 4 of us feel exactly the same about the Oceania! loved it!! everything about it!

Definitely visiting Italy again, 13 days wasnt enough!! & definitely will be visiting The Oceania again! loved it!

Room Tip: no need to worry about choosing a good room, it is so accomodating just say how many! we had 3 girls...

The staff and owner at this hotel are the absolute best I have ever encountered. Always on hand, willing to help with anything, courteous, friendly and warm. The rooms are clean and beautiful. The breakfast is perfect: Pope hats, pastries, tea, coffee and juice, all served in a beautiful dining room. Very classy. This hotel is in walking distance from the train station, although if you have small kids, you should taxi it. We also walked to Spanish Steps, Trevi, Forum and Colosseum areas. There is casual and fine dining (stick with casual), shopping, everything in walking distance. Don't miss Santa Maria degli Angeli church a block away.
