“Really nice place”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 10 March 2012

The hotel is an interesting located with well appointed rooms, nice breakfast and very personable staff. It has a very homey feeling to it, because we always felt like we are returning home after a long day of enjoying the sites of Rome. We will not forget the unorthodox lift, the pleasant scent of it and the landing balcony. We would definitively stay here again and we would recommend this hotel without any hesitation, if you are looking for a value based selection and a hotel that has character, minus the glitzy lobbies, and all the other usual hotel trappings.

What a cool hotel. Recommended by Rick Steves in his 2011 guide to Italy it was not a disappointment. Traveling a little off season made it affordable, and the location was pretty great.
Its another tucked away hotel in a residential neighborhood on the 3rd floor of a really cool old building. The elevator is not surprisingly small, but it starts essentially a few steps up from the entrance so that's a bonus.
Our room was nice, but what I REALLY loved was the windows that cranked open to the center of the courtyard/building that was flooded with the sounds of opera singers practicing from the church on the bottom floor.
At first I thought it was coming from a neighbor 1 story up, but when I asked our host about it he told me about the church downstairs. The beautiful sounds of their voices flooded up through the center of the building-it was like I was in a movie. Its the little nuances like this that made my stay so memorable.
Id like to mention Roberto and how sweet he was. He was always available and we had a few nice chats with him. The rest of the staff that we met briefly were also very nice. I like having a bar where you could get a coffee or cocktail and walk it back to your room steps away.
Trevy Fountain was about a 10 minute walk, and the walk was great because it forced us to live like a local. We took the local metro and got around mostly by walking, its easily navigable by foot.
The room was clean, and the hotel was really peaceful and quiet.I loved the catwalk that ran between the 2 sides of the hotel where you can sit at a bistro chair and enjoy a moment. Free Wi-Fi was also really helpful. There are a few small restaurants on the block where you can get a nice meal, a light snack or a bottle of wine for take away.
One more quick mention about Rick Steves, if you are familiar with him you know that he stays in really cool and unique places all around Europe with accommodations from 5 star Hotels to minimalist Hostels, He happened to have stayed at Oceania few weeks earlier from our visit and had signed his latest book for the Hotel. He definitely walks the walk when he gives advice about where to get the best bang for your buck and this was 1 of those places!
I cant wait to go back!

We were a party of six and chose this location after viewing one of Rick Steve's video's. He was correct in recommending this hotel. We enjoyed everything about this hotel. The breakfast was perfect to start the day with fresh baked breads, danish and a hot Italian coffees. We used the bus stop every day during our stay that was only apx two blocks away. We also tried several restaurants in the area that were superb. Our rooms were very clean and comfortable. The outdoor veranda was also perfect to be able to sit outside even though it was a little chilly. But we loved it. We will be back to Rome and will hope to be able to stay at this location again. I have already recommended this location to several of my friends and family for their future trips to Rome.

This is a great hotel with just the right size room and extremely helpful and friendly service. hats off to Roberto and Anna for making our stay in Rome perfect. it is a busy city if you are coming from small town Alaska and the hotel allows one to relax, sleep and then venture forth and walk everywhere. Only cab we took was to Vatican and we walked the entire city. Stay here and be happy you did

We would stay here again. Great location, spacious rooms, good, friendly service........ A bonus was classical music drifting up from the opera school on the level below.

We stayed at Hotel Oceania for 4 nights in December and it was perfect. The staff were very helpful. The rooms were warm, clean, and comfortable. The location is ideal. You are very near a metro stop, not far from the main train station, and good restaurants are nearby. I would stay there again without question.

Room Tip: Don't be alarmed by the thin bath towels. There is very good water pressure and plenty of hot wa...

Can't say enough about this hotel; Spacious rooms, comfortable beds and large spacious bathrooms. There is a nice patio with free wifi, where you can sit back and enjoy a glass of wine or an expresso after a long day of touring. The staff are all personable, they are helpful and speak english. Breakfast was great, they serve good rolls, beautiful pastries, and great coffee. I would stay there again in a heartbeat.
