“Fantastic value and location!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 27 March 2012

Hotel Milo really surpassed our expectations. After reading some other reviews I was slightly concerned that I may have made a mistake booking this place - I couldn't have been more wrong. It was extremely easy to find from Termini and in an excellent location for walking to all the major tourist attractions.
The staff, especially those on reception were very helpful, and more than happy to advise on where to go and how to get there etc, always with a friendly Bonjourno or Ciao!
The room was large with a compact bathroom, and cleaned daily with towels also changed daily. Our room had quaint shutters which opened up to view the bustling street below, although noise was kept to a minimum by the double glazing (apart from the singing Scottish rugby fans!).
Breakfast was really good, OK it was basic cereals, pastries, cheese and meat with proper orange juice and coffee - your normal continental breakfast then. It was plentiful and certainly enough to start your day off well.
The lift was small - big enough for two plus luggage, but the stairs weren't a problem. We realised on the last day that there was a lovely terrace where you could eat breakfast - will definitely remember next time!
So to sum up, this is a fantastic value hotel in a really central location and I honestly don't think you could get much better - it is very highly recommended. I will definitely retrurn to this amazing and beautiful city and I will book in at the Milo!

Room Tip: We stayed in Room 524 on the fifth floor - so very peaceful with quaint shutters! Don't forget t...

Just spent 4 days (March) in Rome. Hotel Milo is perfectly situated for almost everything: transport, food, things to see. 8 or 9 steps lead to the lift taking you to reception. Breakfast was great (though not if you're wanting an unhealthy full British breakfast fry up! - we never found this anywhere). As they say - when in Rome, do as the romans do....have a light breakfast! Our room (308) was large and cool, as was the en suite. It was on quite a busy street, but the noise seemed to die down after 11ish (the double glazing was v effective) and most large cities are noisy. We were so tired after all the walking that we slept very well.

The hotel is located in a walking distance from the central termini metro station which is very convenient. The staff are nice. The breakfast is decent and the coffee is fantastic. There is restaurant close by called Pastaroma where we had the pasta there. The couple bed was made up from two single beds placed side by side and it was not that comfortable as the groove in the middle was kind of annoying.
The rooms are clean enough. Overall it is good budget hotel with fantastic location.

This is cheap, clean and location is ok (not really as rough as other reviews suggest). But breakfast was poor, it was noisy, lift was tempermental and the room was very basic (with dodgy tv) - all of which is forgivable for a hostel but not a 3star hotel. To be fair, EUR100/night for a double room in Rome is probably about 2star level anyway - but don't expect a place to come back to and relax after doing the tourist thing. Would rather pay an extra few euros and get a proper 3star hotel.

My husband and I stayed here last August during our first visit to Rome. Staff was accomidating, but certainly not overly friendly. Did speak very good English, so we had no problem there. Was very conveniently located, close to train station and close to some decent shops and restaurants. There was no air conditioning, but with the open window and fan, we were very comfortable. Room and bathroom were very basic but excpeptionally clean.
I thought breakfast was great. It was the standard hotel breakfast that you will get in any hotel in italy- pastries, fruit, cereal, yogurt, juice and coffee. They also had a small terrace where you can eat breakfast and although the hotel is on a busy street, it was quite quiet on the terrace and very relaxing.
The elevator was the only thing that was quite sketchy, so we just decided to hoof it and take the steps, which was totally fine.
We loved this place, and thought for the price that we paid, we couldn't have found a better value. Will defitiely come back the next time we visit Rome.

Here is a breakdown of my ratings:

Service: The staff was very nice and helpful whenever we had questions. The elevator was broken the day we arrived and they offered to carry our bags to the 5th floor (though we didn't accept the offer... but we should have:)).

Value: No add'l comments.

Sleep Quality & Rooms: I would have given the rooms an average rating if there was air conditioning. The only reason we were upset about the A/C is because we were never aware of the fact that they didn't have AC. Rome has been unusually hot this September and we could not sleep during the evenings b/c of the heat and the noise from the street. Our room was facing a busy street and we had to keep the windows open to circulate the heat. I don't fault them for the noise on the street but for the fact that we had to leave the windows open. There was a small noisy fan to help circulate the heat as well. The bathrooms had no circulation so were always muggy and always had lots of condensation.

Cleanliness: Very Clean

Location: The location was great. The hotel was located approx 2 blocks from the central terminal of the metro, which is also where the train is located. We were able to get to all of the sites in minutes.

This would be a great hotel in the Winter, Spring and Fall!!!
