I fell in love with San Pio at first sight and continued to love it throughout the stay. What a lovely, charming, friendly and well maintained historic hotel. Good breakfast and no charges for services like wifi. Our double room was very large and with a huge comfy bed. I appreciated the silence and fresh air at night.

The staff were so nice and friendly, it was a mere joy to stay there.

Very good hotel, except for the location. A lit bit far from city center, but near Trastevere. Excellent staff and reception. Very good rooms and bathrooms. I would recommend if you want a calm neighbourhood but not so far from the main attractions.

This hotel is so beautiful, set in a lovely leafy area. It has delightful gardens and our room was quite spacious, with a good bed, very clean. Also very quiet. The buffet breakfasts were delicious, (lovely pastries) and staff were very friendly and quick. It is slightly out of the centre of tourist Rome, which we loved, taxis were about 10-12€, though there are good restaurants in walking distance. Everyone was very helpful and courteous. This hotel was a haven to return to after big days out. We would definitely use it again. Book early for good deals on prices.

Room Tip: Some rooms are larger than others. Our friends' rooms were smaller but had other charms. One had...

This hotel is clean and quiet. We are a family of three and slept in a king bed with a day bed for our son. Breakfast was delicious and service was great. The location is in a quiet neighborhood a good mile from the Colosseum. A little far from the other central sights but that wasn't too much of a problem.

Three of us spent 7 nights in this beautiful boutique hotel in Aventino in June of 2014. Our triple room was very comfortable and attractive. The staff at the hotel are exceedingly friendly, pleasant and helpful. They booked reservations for us at restaurants and the Galleria Borghese, gave us maps, tips on getting buses -- anything you could need. The breakfast area is in a beautiful garden and the offerings are plentiful -- eggs, cheeses, yogurts, fresh fruits, juices, breads, pastries, cappuccinos, etc. The breakfast was substantial enough that we easily skipped lunch.

The hotel is located in the Aventino area of Rome -- a beautiful upscale residential area. Although it is about a 20 - 30 minute walk to the center of the City (i.e. the Victor Emmanuel Monument), buses are only a five minute walk from the hotel. We bought the Roma Passes (which we had to get at the Tourist Information office near the Forum -- they seem to be hard to get elsewhere). Not only did the Roma Pass give us free or discounted access to many sights, we could ride the bus anywhere for free.

The only slight negative of the hotel is the service we arranged for pick-up from the airport when we arrived. Since we were three with luggage, we thought we had to order this service. Not only was it a rip-off at 75 euros (leaving only cost us 48 euros), the gentleman supposedly picking us up was not there at first -- we had to call the hotel multiple times for him to show up and we were e-mailed before came to Rome that if we left with another taxi we still had to pay the original booking (and you have to pay cash -- you can't put in on your hotel bill).

However, on the whole, I would absolutely recommend this hotel -- very attractive and very reasonable with great service (discounting the pick-up service).

It is a joy to express appreciation to the wonderful staff at San Pio Hotel . Thank you, each one for assistance ,and ready smiles. We felt we were your friends! "A thing of beauty is a joy forever"- Hotel Villa San Pio is home to the elegance of Italian culture, art and refinement. It is also meticulously clean!! and the bathrooms very modern . The breakfast was delicious, good variety and more ample than we required. The gardens are lovely testifying to much care, a quiet home to birds whose singing is a happy experience. We certainly look forward to seeinging you again. God bless and reward you!
