“Great place to stay!”
Reviewed 10 July 2014

I heard about this place from a friend who went to Rome the year before. It was perfect for my boyfriend and I, it had everything we needed and none of the extras that we didn't. The front desk was very helpful with directions and suggestions for food. We made the mistake of going to one of the restaurants underneath the hotel and ended up eating badly prepared frozen food but thanks to the friendly girl at the front desk our next dinner was delicious. It was also so easy to find after we exited the metro, it was such a relief to not be running around Rome looking for it with our bags in tow. Once we got there I also felt very safe and it was so nice going back to our room at the end of each day and having A/C! We also opened the windows at night and could hear people on the street playing music and singing, which I loved. I could not have imagined staying at a better place on our trip!

Great location! Tiny room, tinier bathroom you needed to always be sideways shuffling. Hairs (not mine!) and mould in the shower that were present for my stay. Unfriendly, silent staff. Quiet for a good sleep which matters.

Fantastic location in the middle of everything. Rooms are small but functional and clean, very small bathroom which made us laugh as we had to enter the shower sideways....No room to store luggage. But all of this did not matter because the location and price trumped it all. Also you get a voucher for a fabulous breakfast at a downstairs local bakery/cafe. The breakfast pastries were so tasty I can still remember them months later. If I come back to Rome I would stay here once again.

Room Tip: We were located in the back and there was little noise. The front street was under repair when we w...

From subway Spagna – 3 min walk (Spagna is 3rd stop from the main rail station Termini). Via del Corso - one of the main walking and shopping streets - is just within one block, Vatican – 30 min walk, Piazza Navona – 20 min, Piazza Barberini and Via Vittorio Veneto – 15 min. Panda is small hotel but there is someone helpful at the front desk at any time. Our room (#35) was quite small, but with high wood-beam ceiling, spotlessly clean, full bathroom with a fully enclosed shower, standard good furniture, good and easily controlled task and mood lighting, very quiet at night. They don’t serve breakfast, but they offer a $5 breakfast voucher at a decent restaurant at the corner and there are dozens of places to consider immediately next to the hotel, including such famous establishments as Babington's Tea Rooms (Piazza di Spagna, 23) and Antico Caffè Greco (Via dei Condotti, 86) – simply delicious. This was our second stay at Panda (the first was about 7-8 years ago). We’ll gladly stay there again and definitely can recommend it to any traveler.

Fantastic location, though I had a very small room. Still it didn't detract from the experience as its best to be outside and enjoying Rome! The room was clean and staff were friendly. Definitely recommended.

We stayed at Hotel Panda on our overseas trip. We did read a couple of bad reviews but were lucky enough to get the room down the far end but on the left hand side.

With the 40 degree heat in Rome the air con was a god send !!! The room was small, but tidy and neat....and was great for the budget we had and our travelling plans. We stayed 5 nights and found it to be in a great place for getting around Rome. There is a great cafe/bar across and up the road a little bit, plenty of local roman cafe's (non tourist food) and a great atmosphere around the spanish steps....I recomend Hotel Panda to any traveller looking to stay amongst all the action....we didn't notice to noise that people complain of but hey - its Rome !
