We got this room on a blind booking on Hotwire. This is a very nice hotel, and we enjoyed our stay here. Excellent price for 3 nights in Rome.

Very quiet and clean. Big rooms for Europe. Very safe area about a 3 block walk from the metro.

Best metro station to get off is Ponte Lungo. When you get off, walk downhill down Via Gela. Stop for pizza at Voglia de Pizza, (seriously, worth it), then continue until you get to Tuscolana (first busy cross street). Turn right, go through tunnel under train tracks for 1 block. Turn Left on Via Assisi. Hotel is at top of hill. The reason you should note the directions is that the street name change at Tuscolana. On one side the name is Assisi and the other is Veturia. It make map following difficult.

Hotel breakfast is really first rate. Highly recommend it. Better than at a HIExpress in the US.

Internet is good, but in a distant room I could not connect. I had to walk back hallway to get on.

Ask for a courtyard room, they have some with balcony's. Back of hotel is a train stop. There are trains going by all the time, and occasionally freight comes in at night. No a huge issue for us, but we are pretty good sleepers. with the windows open you can hear the recorded announcements.

Very fluent in English and helpful.
Nice hotel, would stay here again.

Room Tip: Train Yard is to back of hotel. Ask for a courtyard room with a balcony

Dear Valued Guest,
Thank you very much indeed about your nice survey about your recent stay with us and as you perfectly wrote our Hot American Breakfast Buffet is our best way to thank you for choosing us, although please remember it is always in room rate included.

Regarding the train stop back of hotel, I assure you the trains run from 5.30 a.m. to 10.30 p.m, because they are not allow to run crossing the City Centre during the night hours.

Anyways all guestrooms are fitted with double glazed window to avoid nay noise coming from outside.

Looking forward to welcome you as preferred Guest next time you will travel to Rome, I wish you all the best.

Faithfully Yours.

We stayed at this property as were are IHG members and had points we wanted to use. It was nice Hotel, in a working neighborhood. We were away from the bustle of the souvenier shops in the center.

The hotel was a few blocks walk from the metro which would drop you off at the colesium or other spots. The hotel staff was helpful with directions to sites and suggesting the Roma Pass. We used and benefitted from the Roma pass. They were also accurate in their Taxi cost estimates to the center, which was about 18 Euros. Their directions from the Airport were also helpful and save us quite a bit of money.

The breakfast was ok. We only ate it once. We preferred the coffee bar at the end of the street on Tuscolana and Assisi. The eggs were runny and the bacon different than what I am used to eating and under cooked for my liking. The juices and fruits were nice with a selection of cereals.

The bed was very comfortable. The room was too warm, so we opened the window. One night there were a few drunks in the coutyard...until the wee hours of the AM, which the hotel didn't address.

It did seem that whenever we asked for something...the front desk had to check on our IHG status...I'm glad we were platinum customers. Otherwise, I am not sure they would have been as helpful.

Room Tip: We had 302, we didn't experience any issue with train noise

I stayed here for 3 nights while traveling alone. The wifi is extra with the standard room, but for just a few more Euros per night I upgraded to the nicer room with balcony, coffee maker, and included wifi. So if you're going to use wifi it will be worth it to get the better room. Staff was helpful and friendly. It's about 2 blocks from the train station and about 3-4 blocks from the metro. Not as expensive as most hotels in Rome, but easy to get to the metro and get around. The room was a bit noisy, I could hear my neighbors easily.

Holiday Inn Express Hotels in Europe are somewhat predictable and this property is no exception. Typical HIE. Rooms are small, but clean. This property is reasonably priced as well, probably due to its working class neighborhood location. It has a nice business center along with a very nice outdoor courtyard area along with a bar and lounge area. The breakfast is presented very nicely with a good selection that should be enough for anyone. It is about a 10 minute walk to the Metro and if you are a good walker, about 30 minutes to the Colosseum. We like that it is out of the touristy areas and it has more the flavor of Italy that we appreciate. About three blocks away is a very nice traditional Italian restaurant C'era Una Volta. This hotel is near the train station and you can hear the trains as they rumble through. However, we did not find them disturbing.

Room Tip: There are no good views but some of the rooms have balconies that face the courtyard

We stayed here for 3 nights in late April 2014. We had showed up to a B & B that did not have our reservation for some reason even though I had it printed in my hand and we had to find other arrangements last minute.
I quickly booked the three nights with IHG points, showed up 1 hour later for check in and the front desk staff greeted us as if they were expecting us for months! They recognized our Platinum IHG status and were helpful with explaining the services the hotel offered.
Our room was very good sized and we received one with a balcony facing the courtyard they have.
This hotel has air conditioning that works VERY well and would probably come in handy with the hot summers.
The location is about 6 blocks from the Metro train and only about 2-3 blocks from a bus stop that takes you directly to the Coliseum and the main Termini station.
The breakfast was very good. Hot food, pastries, coffee/cappuccino machine, fresh water, juice, etc. If you have ever had the holiday inn express breakfast in the states, this a certainly a notch better and tasted more like real food.
The cleaning staff did a great job cleaning our room every day.
I don't know what more you ask for than a good size room, very clean, helpful staff, great value for point redemption and normal rates and close to the main transportation lines!
If we ever come back to Rome (especially in the summer) this place provides a GREAT value and experience.

I have really appreciated you worlds because they come from a World Traveller and not from a simple Tourist like most, since the social web site came popular!
It means you wrote the truth about everything, comparing our services to the same level you received in the states and it is clear we offer a great value for the money paid.

Thank you very much indeed once more.

We are proud to be your hotel of choice in Rome and looking forward to welcome as favorite Guest, I remain with kind regards.
