“A very nice Hotel”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 18 July 2014

I liked the hotel, it is small on a quite street with large rooms and good size bathroom. The staff and breakfast were OK, it is in a long walk from the train/Metro station. a lot of nice places to eat, some are out of the tourist areas and full of locals. I like it and would stay here again for sure...

Dear Ashraf,

Thank you for having given us a lttle bit of your time, and thank you for your lovely review...

Besides that, thank you for having mentioned Raffaello's position, which is one of our strenght points: less than a mile away from the Coliseum, and half of mile away from Termini, the main train station, as well as from both subway lines, A and B, ...Raffello is situated in Monti district, the oldest Roman neighbourhood (it actually existed already in Nero's times!!!)

We are also glad you have enjoyed yur staying here, and we hope you will honour us with a new visit...
Regards,
Elena

Our second stay at Raffaello Hotel was even better than the first. We celebrated my wife's birthday (stayed May 2014) with family. It is centrally placed, yet out of the hustle and bustle close to the Termini station, Colosseum and great local restaurants such as Tema (recommended by Raffaello, which was outstanding) as well as Il Carbonara (all within walking distance). Rooms are very clean with comfortable beds, minibar, WIFI and flat screen TV's. Breakfast at the hotel is superb, a fine selection of pastries, cereal, cold meats as well as scrambled eggs. The staff are very helpful, multi-lingual and have great recommendations for restaurants, tours and things to do when in Rome. Special thanks again to Massimo, Francesca and Elena for yet another great stay. Look forward to returning very soon!!

Dear sandjnick,

Thank you for such a beautiful review, we are so glad you have enjoyed you stay here so much, and that we were able, in our own way, to make your holiday a little bit brighter... :)

Thank you, as well, for having chosen us the second time: that, to be honest, is the best compliment a hotel can receive, so thank you! :)

We do our work with passion and commitment, and we use our guests' feedback as a tool to improve ourselves and our services, but we have to admit we are more than pleased when we see our jobs make other people happy... :)

Wishing you a warm return home, we hope there will be a third staying here as soon as possible. :)

Until then,
Regards,
Elena

We booked this hotel for a trip just my husband and I for our 10-year anniversary. The lobby and rooms are very clean and the staff is exceptional, especially Elena. She went out of her way to give us a room with a balcony, help us with all of our touristy questions, and on our last night in Rome made us reservations for dinner and suggested a personal favorite cafe of hers.

As far as the location and amenities, this one would be hard to beat for this price. There are quite a few local eateries down Via Urbana that were fantastic local cuisine....no one standing outside, ushering you in like cattle. The bathrooms are a bit smaller than we are used to, but we as American's expect everything big. It was just fine for what we needed.

If we ever returned to Rome, I would most definitely stay here again!

Hey there! :)

I see you got home safe and sound! :)

Thank you for your marvelous words, but just so you'd know, ...I don't have the magic wand, it was not me that gave you the room, it was simply possible for us to please you, as the availability of the rooms at the time of your arrival allowed us to, and seen the special event, ...we did all our best, as we always try to, ...to make your staying here as special as possible.... :)

That being said, ...let me completely agree with you: Via Urbana is full of small handcraft shops, small tavernas and restaurants, not tourist traps, but small cozy places, where you can have a meal at a decent price...

As for the rest, ...I really hope I will have the chance of welcoming you again soon, this time in 3 or 4?! So hurry up, will you?! :))))

Warmest wishes,
Elena

This is a small hotel which is right in the centre of all the sights. The staff are extremely helpful and the place is very clean. If you turn left out of the main door there are some reasonably priced bars and restaurants about 300 yards away. The drunken cow was exceptionally good. Buy yourself a ticket on one of the many open top buses and you can hop on and hop off all day. We used the tube which was a doddle, but one of our party was pick pocketed while we were on there so please be careful.
We used guided tours twice which were excellent. Although you paid a little more, you didn't have to queue to get in which in some cases was over two hours. Use the bars and restaurants in the back streets and you'll find better service and cheaper prices.

Room Tip: 310 and 312 were both good rooms

Dear Paul,

I see you have revealed all my secrets to the others! Are you trying to steal my job?! Cause I am not eager to leave it so soon... :)))

On a more serious note, thank you for the time you have given us - I mean the time you have spent for writing this lovely review, we are glad your staying here was such a serene one (pickpocket episode being excluded), and we are even happier we had a little to do with this... :)

Hoping you will come back some time again soon, we wish youa warm return home, and a serene summer!

Elena

I stayed here for a week when in Rome recently. It is in a great location, within walking distance to the train station, walking distance to all the sites Rome has to offer and the hop on hop off bus has a stop not very far away either. The rooms are the normal size, were very clean and it was great to be able to open a window if needed. The staff were helpful and happily provided maps and directions to get to all of the locations. The free wifi was good also and the rooms are quiet. The shower was something to work out but thats all part of the fun. Lots of restaurants within the local area. There is limited english speaking tv channels if you wanted to watch tv but otherwise i could have stayed here for longer.

Tracey,

What to say?! Glad to see you have made it home safe and sound... :)

Thank you for having shared us with the other Tripadvisor users, whom we would like to remind they have a special discount...

As for the English speaking channels, for the moment we only have the main ones, we are working on this, as a matter of fact...

Hoping you will keep your promise and you will visit us again, ...we wish you all the best, and a sweet and smoothe welcome back home!

Regards,

Elena

We stayed 3 nights mid June 14 we were very pleased with our stay, great location short 20 minute walk to most popular locations - Colosseum, Trevi fountain Parthenon etc. short walk to Termini station. The hotel was clean & comfortable staff friendly & helpful, we found the coffee & tea facility in the reception area that was open 24 hours to be very convenient for our group of 6 as it was a great meeting place to plan our excursions.
Would definitely stay at this hotel again

Dear V1nc3p,

I am afraid you have just lied to everyone here! We are not close to the Parthenon, unless by "close" you mean taking a 3 h flight, and go to Athens, in Greece! :)))))))))))))))))

But we are close to the Coliseum, Trevi, Spanish Steps and Pantheon... :)

Joking aside, thank you for having given us a little bit of your precious time on writing your opinion about us, we are glad you have found us such a good host! :)

Hoping you will come again for a visit, we wish youa warm summer, and...all the best!

We stayed for 3 nights this week in their family room at the back of the hotel. Quiet and roomy enough for 4 (2 adults, 2 teenagers 16+), with 2 rooms plus a decent size bathroom with a good hot shower. Clean towels provided everyday was nice as was the toiletries that were also replaced daily. Air conditioning good in both rooms, even had remote control! Free wi-fI and pillow choices were an added bonus.

Staff were friendly and helpful, giving us brief directions to popular sites on arrival.
Location we thought was great, as it seemed a quieter part of the city but still within 10-20 minutes of the Colosseum, Spanish steps and the Trevi Fountain (THOUGH WATCH OUT as currently being restored and has no water and lots of scaffolding until 2015!). The Terminus (Metro Station) only 10 minutes away ideal for Vatican and St. Peter's square. Found a couple of nice restaurants and Gelato (ice cream) shops nearby as well!

Breakfast offered good selection including some gluten free options. Doesn't have tea/coffee facilities in room but lovely quiet seating area near reception with these facilities.

Thank you to all staff at Raffaello for making our holiday so enjoyable. We would definitely come back again!

Mike,

Thank you for having shared us with everyone else...and most of all, thank you not only for having chosen us in the first place, but for having appreciated our work, as well... :)

Thank you, as well, for having stressed Raffaello's position, which is one of our strenght points: less than a mile away from both Coliseum and Termini (the Roman main train station), as well from both subway lines stops, A and B...

We do hope you managed to throw a coin in the famous Trevi Fountain, even if they're restoring it, so that you will come back for a new visit as soon as possible! :)

Until then,
Warmest wishes,

Elena
