We arrived via cab from the airport and when the driver pulled up to the Hotel, I admit, it wasn't what I expected based on pictures I seen on their website. Then I walked in and all was well again! The location is one of the best if you like to walk. On one day we walked to Termini (about 6 blocks) and caught the early train to Venice (7:35am), stayed there all day (8 hours), then took the last train back (7:25pm) to Termini, and walked back to hotel. It was wonderful! We walked to the Colosseum and the surrounding ancient ruins. We walked to Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain, Piazza Navona and the Pantheon among other sights. My point being that the location is wonderful. The complimentary breakfast is great! Eggs, meats, breads, danish, cereal, juices, cake, cookies, yogurt among other items. Fantastic. You will appreciate this when you find out that eating breakfast out will cost you 20 euro minimum for two. The two ladies that served and was in charge of the breakfast, were the two best of hotel staff there! Smiling, polite and so friendly! Always asking what they could do for us and helped us in every way. Breakfast in the morning there was a true pleasure. So clean and inviting! Our room was a bit small, but that's not a complaint. The shower is built into the corner of the bathroom, and isn't very big, but you can manage. It was an unusual placement of the toilet, I thought, as well. The pillows were nice, but I thought the bed to be a bit too firm (hard). Not enough to deduct a point though. There are plenty of nice restaurants within a couple blocks of walking, too. I felt Raffaello Hotel to be a good value, and would recommend it justly.
