“Great Location, Great Breakfast!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 6 August 2014

We arrived via cab from the airport and when the driver pulled up to the Hotel, I admit, it wasn't what I expected based on pictures I seen on their website. Then I walked in and all was well again! The location is one of the best if you like to walk. On one day we walked to Termini (about 6 blocks) and caught the early train to Venice (7:35am), stayed there all day (8 hours), then took the last train back (7:25pm) to Termini, and walked back to hotel. It was wonderful! We walked to the Colosseum and the surrounding ancient ruins. We walked to Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain, Piazza Navona and the Pantheon among other sights. My point being that the location is wonderful. The complimentary breakfast is great! Eggs, meats, breads, danish, cereal, juices, cake, cookies, yogurt among other items. Fantastic. You will appreciate this when you find out that eating breakfast out will cost you 20 euro minimum for two. The two ladies that served and was in charge of the breakfast, were the two best of hotel staff there! Smiling, polite and so friendly! Always asking what they could do for us and helped us in every way. Breakfast in the morning there was a true pleasure. So clean and inviting! Our room was a bit small, but that's not a complaint. The shower is built into the corner of the bathroom, and isn't very big, but you can manage. It was an unusual placement of the toilet, I thought, as well. The pillows were nice, but I thought the bed to be a bit too firm (hard). Not enough to deduct a point though. There are plenty of nice restaurants within a couple blocks of walking, too. I felt Raffaello Hotel to be a good value, and would recommend it justly.

Dear Hwk,

Thank you for such an honest and still, enthusiastic review! :)

We are glad you have enjoyed your staying here as much, and that we were able to create such beautiful memories about your holiday in Rome, as our guests' wellbeing is the thing we care mostly about, and we can prove that by the small details we take care of, in order to satisfy our clients' needs, like the case of the breakfast... :)

That being said, we hope you will honour us with your presence as soon as possible.

Best regards,
Elena

This little hotel was in a great location for the main station. We had a family room that was spacious enough for four of us. The receptionist was outstanding and very helpful. We had left one of our bags in a taxi and she immediately called the taxi company and told us to go away and get something to eat while she would sort it- and when we returned she had our bag. The hotel was clean and breakfast was simple but good. We liked the location near lots of restaurants and bars that seemed to be used by locals rather than tourists.

Room Tip: Rooms at the back are very quiet but little view.

Dear Jennifer,

Glad to see you arrived home safe and sound! :)

Thank you for having given us a little bit of your time, our guests' feedback is important to us.

As about your small bag incident, no worries: we have seen and done a lot worse than this, glad I could talk to the driver and take back your bag. :)

I hope you and your children have left the Eternal City with a warm and charming idea about it. I like to think we do all our best in order for our guests to feel at home here... :)

Hoping we will have the opportunity to host you again soon, we wish you all the best! :)

Warmest regards,

Elena

I stayed at Rafaello Hotel for 7 nights in June. I had a superior room with a patio on the top floor.

I suggest to splurge on a patio to enjoy evenings outside with some wine or early mornings to ear the birds. It was very pretty and big with nice flowers and plants, table and chairs and was very private.

The room was above everything I expected. Well furnished, a lot of closets (an entire wall!), multiple drawers, very large room, well appointed bathroom and most important extremely clean. The beds were very comfy and the room was quiet at night. No problem even for light sleeper. The bottle of water and slippers were a nice touch.

The breakfast was very good with a good selection and they bring you fresh toasted bread and cappuccino or cafe americano on request. Their bood orange juice is excellent.

The staff was very friendly except for the front desk. This was the only downside of this hotel. If you ask for information, do not expect them to go for the extra mile. The cleaning and breakfast staff will go out of their way to help you though.

The location is perfect. Within walking distance of many restaurants and gelateria (very addictive!), Termini station, Metro entrance, Bankomat, Collosseum, Roman Forum, National Museum, etc.

I would certainly stay at this hotel again if I go back to Rome.

Room Tip: Superior room with patio well worth the price.

My husband and I staid at this hotel in late April/early May 2014. It surpassed all expectations of what I expected from Italian/Roman hotels, having read about how small the rooms/beds generally are. The room was not huge and neither was the bed, but the room was comfortable, cosy and clean and the bathroom was also clean and of a good size, with a decent sized shower with good water pressure.
The hotel is situated in a nice area, which is quite trendy/funky, and is walking distance to most of the major sites The breakfast buffet was fantastic and definitely the best we had on our two month trip of Europe/Morocco. I could certainly get used to cake for breakfast! I would definitely stay here if in Rome again.

Well, Katherine,

Come and live in Italy! :) This is what we have for breakfast: sweets and cappuccino... :)

Glad to hear your staying here was so fabulous, and glad to see we were the highlight of your holiday, at least the foody part of it. :)

We do hope you will renew your visit here soon, we will be waiting here with some new cakes, just for you! :)

Warmest wishes,
Elena

According to the reviews of TripAdvisor, I was already expecting a good hotel, close to the Termini station. The area is surprisingly quiet, and the hotel presented itself in a very good way. Clean, cosy and nice. The breakfast offered different choices, while the ladies were very helpful in serving coffee and tea.
The services offered by the staff exceeded my expectations. We were offered a very nice room, together with touristic advices and hints provided by Elena. She is a very nice youg Romanian lady, that speaks several languages. With her help, we were able to save time and money visiting the historic part of Rome, and we found our way quick and safe. Hats off for the staff of Raffaelo !

Room Tip: Ask a room above towards the street.

Wow!

Dear Cezar,

I have to admit I didn't see that one coming! :)

Thank you so much for your compliments, it means a lot to us that sometimes people stop and make time to appreciate some of our work: it gives us motivation to go on doing the things we are doing...

I hope all went well with the wedding, and that you had a lot of fun, and...we do hope to have you again here, for a longer staying! :)

Warmest wishes,

We stayed in the hotel for 3 nights and it was an unexpected treat. The room we had was on the top floor with the outside balcony and we enjoyed it first thing in the AM and late in the evening. The location is great as it was a reasonable walking distance to the termini station and you were central to all the places you want to see in Rome. The staff took excellent care of us and very helpful in navigating back to the train station on a rainy day. The breakfast was a nice way to start the day with a wide variety of options from fruit, cereal and even eggs. Only drawback was the shower cubicle is not for someone claustrophobic and the water was warm.

Dear rsjus,

Thank you for having shared us with the other Tripadvisor users, whom we would like to remind they have a special discount! :)

We are happy that your staying here was such a positive one, as we genuinely care about our guests' wellbeing, and we have proven it with the services we have continuously tried to implement or improve: free coffee and tea facilities in the lobby area, free wi-fi connection, which we have improved so much in the past 2 years, the concierge service (that would be me, haha!), or the Pillow Menu...

As for the shower, ...we do hope next time you will come you will be kind enough to write a note in the reservation, asking for a bath... Some of our showers give the impression of being smaller simply because of the hydromassaging features... :)

Warmest wishes,

Elena
