This is my third time back to 47 Hotel--and for good reason. The hotel is centrally located in that many attractions and restaurants are in walking distance, yet it's not an area with many hotels. The rooms are impeccably clean, as are the workout facilities. There is also very quaint, and once again very immaculate, breakfast area that serves a very relaxed European style breakfast.
Above all, however, is the staff. Each of them goes above and beyond the call of duty, and with a smile. No attitude that you sometimes endure in better hotels. Leaving a lasting impression on me was the concierge/desk manager Flavia. Her suggestions, especially restaurants, were spot on. And she wasn't hard on the eyes either.

We stayed at Hotel 47 for the new year. When we arrived, Alina greeted us and helped us find our way around. Our stay was wonderful, and the hotels qualities are all in order and above our expectations. Great location, breakfast, service, cleanliness, gym, etc... But, the most important part of our stay has to do with leaving. I received an email the morning of our departure notifying us that our flight was rescheduled to a day later, because of weather in NYC. Here is where I am most impressed with the hotel and mostly Alinas' skills. Alina got on the phone with the airline, and found us a flight on a different carrier, coordinated the entire transaction and we were on our way. Without her help, I do not know how it would have turned out. Thank you again Alina. Hotel 47 -- Alina deserves a raise! The Millers

Room Tip: We stayed in 402 and 403 and were very happy. We will return and have already recommended Hotel 47...

We had such a fantastic experience at FortySeven! The rooms were modern - the espresso in the room was a nice bonus and the staff went above and beyond at every turn! Also, we loved the breakfast - the food was fantastic, there were lots of options, and the dining room was huge. An especially big shout out to Ariane!

Room Tip: We stayed in the suite on the 5th floor- it has an amazing balcony!

The hotel is located within an easy walk of the Colosseum and many other prime tourist locations. We were also very pleased that the staff was able to accommodate us with an early check-in after a flight from New York, which was very helpful.

Our room, though upgraded, was small. It was essentially a normal-sized room subdivided into a bedroom and a living room, with a partition that did not go all the way to the ceiling. The foot of the bed touched the partition. In addition, WiFi was spotty.

The staff was friendly and helpful.

bWe last visited Hotel Fortyseven in November 2008 (They still had our records from the visit) and liked it so much we booked it again for our three day visit over Christmas in 2013. It was great the first time, it was even better the second time. The reception staff treated us like old friends, made sure we had a wonderful room overlooking some historic ruins of Rome, and quickly made reservations for us in their Circus restaurant for a special Christmas Eve and Christmas Day dinner. As expected, the food was delicious and plentiful. The serving staff was attentive, friendly and very professional. Our wonderful waitress on Christmas evening made sure our wine glasses were never empty (she started us off with champagne on the house). We chose to stay at Hotel Fortyseven the first time because of its perfect central location to most of the major sights of Rome and because we like boutique hotels with personal service. On our second visit we chose this hotel for the same reasons but the personal service was even better. On our third visit to wonderful Rome, which we hope will be soon, we will think of staying nowhere else.

We stayed seven nights as a couple at the Fortyseven Hotel in late November. The hotel is not the cheapest option but it would be hard to fault the location in terms of proximity to the major sights. The Colosseum is within walking distance and the Imperial Forum is just around the corner. One of the major piazzas and shopping areas is only 10 minutes walk up the road, making this hotel a very convenient base to explore Rome.

The room we had was spacious, clean and well appointed, with a largish bathroom. Breakfast was pretty good although after 3 or 4 mornings, it starts to get a bit monotonous. We also had room service meals on a few occasions and were happy with the quality of the food. We ate once at the Circus restaurant but was disappointed with what was served. The dish I had just wasn't to my taste.

The standard of service was generally good. On our arrival our room was not ready so it was suggested that we used the showers in the gym to freshen up after our long flight and a complimentary coffee was served which was very much appreciated by us.

Overall, our stay at this hotel was a positive experience.

Room Tip: Go for the deluxe room which is quite spacious and has a view of the temples across the road.

I am surprised (and sorry!) to hear that you did not enjoy your dinner at The Roof Garden Restaurant Circus since we always receive amazing reviews about it and the restaurant became one of the favourite spots for the local Roman clients and they are known to be very exigent when it comes to food
We hope to see you again next time you are in Rome. Best wishes!

We where there 5-9/12/13. It's not the cheapest of 4 star hotel in Rome but it is totally worth it. The location speaks for itself: 5 minutes walk to Piazza Venezia/The Colosseum. All the bus stops are just outside the hotel (but with no noise since our room faced a side street). The breakfast was rich and tasty. The stuff was extremely helpful and kind. We even received a gift to our room, with compliments from the hotel - a bottle of champagne on ice (Thank you Alina!).
All that is without even mentioning the awesome restaurant on the top the roof (we didn't get to dine there but the view of the city from it was breathtaking).
Planning to return there and we will definitely recommend it to our friends:)))

Room Tip: If you want a room with a bathtub - ask in advance.
