“Italian charm and service in the heart of Rome”
Reviewed 25 January 2014

A very pleasant place to stay with attentive and personal service. The bedroom was kept immaculate, and was well appointed with all the essentials, including an espresso machine and a very comfortable bed. Ideal for business in the city, or for tourism. My only complaint has nothing to do with the hotel itself, but rather its location, at the nexus of some busy city streets. For those who are super-light sleepers like myself, the traffic noise could possibly be a little disturbing, but nothing that earplugs could not remedy. Strongly recommended.

Room Tip: Room 410 was a large double room on the corner of the building with views in two directions. Lovely.

As soon as we walked in we were impressed by the warm welcoming and nice desing . The rooms were spotless and beds very confortable. Loved the bathroom ! !
Many choices for breakfast and enojyed our meal at the Circus restaurant on the Roof. At the end of the day we used each time the steam bath to relax since we walked all over the sights.
A big thank you to all the staff for making our stay better than we expected :)

Room Tip: All rooms are good !

Hotel Fortyseven is an excellent hotel and I have enjoyed staying here for 10 nights. As for the basics, it is well located at the southern end of the historical Forum district, a short 10 minute walk across the river to Tiber Island and Trastevere, 15 minutes to the Colosseum, and less than 20 minutes to the Pantheon, Piazza Navona or the Trevi Fountain. The hotel itself is very handsome; the rooms are commodious and in a simple modern style, with admirable indirect lighting, light colored parquet floors, and beautiful marble tub/shower bathrooms. The beds are firm and comfortable with both soft and firm pillows. The air-conditioning is superb and one can sleep comfortably with the windows closed. The exterior blinds can be controlled electronically from various spots in the room and the double glazed windows and curtains keep the room quiet from the very busy street outside. I slept comfortably every night. Breakfast is available in your room from 7am or in the ground floor dining room or garden depending on the season. The staff are professional, polite, and friendly. The Circus dining room on the top floor (named for the Circus Maximus around the corner) has an unforgettable view night or day. The food is excellent and creative and I dined there five different times, sometimes sharing with friends. In warm weather it must be truly magical. Room service is available 24 hours. Some superior rooms or suites come with a terrace. My room had a pull-out desk under the television, and a small round table with two chairs. There was ample storage space, and an adequately stocked mini-bar. The television carries news channels in English, French, Spanish, and Russian. A red Hotel book has full description of the hotel services in Italian and English. The WiFi is free and strong in the rooms, but weak in the dining rooms and bar, plus it required no password. Each floor of the hotel features the works of different artists on the bedroom walls. Newspapers in various languages are available in the lobby bar or the breakfast room. Taxis come quickly when requested, and there is a car service to the airports. A well equipped gym and large sauna are in the bottom floor. The peculiarities of the hotel is that the electric outlets turn off when you leave your room, so it is somewhat difficult to charge a mobile or computer in your absence. There should also be more electric outlets for this purpose. The thermostat seems to default to a set temperature, and should be checked before going to sleep. I found the default 23c too warm for me, but when manually lowered it was fine. My room came with a Nespresso machine and coffee tablets. The Fortyseven is a green conscious hotel and lighting in the hallways come on only upon entry. Sheets and towels are changed by request or by leaving a message card. Room cleaning was fast and efficient and I usually found my room finished after breakfast. The hotel is popular, so it is essential that you book your table at the Circus restaurant for lunch and dinner, but you shouldn't have a problem unless it is closed for an event, and then you can dine downstairs. I recommend this hotel if it is within your budget and found it to be good value for money, and it would be a pleasure to stay here again.

Room Tip: Request a room with a street view, some rooms on the north side look at a brick building wall and pr...

This is my third time back to 47 Hotel--and for good reason. The hotel is centrally located in that many attractions and restaurants are in walking distance, yet it's not an area with many hotels. The rooms are impeccably clean, as are the workout facilities. There is also very quaint, and once again very immaculate, breakfast area that serves a very relaxed European style breakfast.
Above all, however, is the staff. Each of them goes above and beyond the call of duty, and with a smile. No attitude that you sometimes endure in better hotels. Leaving a lasting impression on me was the concierge/desk manager Flavia. Her suggestions, especially restaurants, were spot on. And she wasn't hard on the eyes either.

We stayed at Hotel 47 for the new year. When we arrived, Alina greeted us and helped us find our way around. Our stay was wonderful, and the hotels qualities are all in order and above our expectations. Great location, breakfast, service, cleanliness, gym, etc... But, the most important part of our stay has to do with leaving. I received an email the morning of our departure notifying us that our flight was rescheduled to a day later, because of weather in NYC. Here is where I am most impressed with the hotel and mostly Alinas' skills. Alina got on the phone with the airline, and found us a flight on a different carrier, coordinated the entire transaction and we were on our way. Without her help, I do not know how it would have turned out. Thank you again Alina. Hotel 47 -- Alina deserves a raise! The Millers

We had such a fantastic experience at FortySeven! The rooms were modern - the espresso in the room was a nice bonus and the staff went above and beyond at every turn! Also, we loved the breakfast - the food was fantastic, there were lots of options, and the dining room was huge. An especially big shout out to Ariane!

Room Tip: We stayed in the suite on the 5th floor- it has an amazing balcony!

The hotel is located within an easy walk of the Colosseum and many other prime tourist locations. We were also very pleased that the staff was able to accommodate us with an early check-in after a flight from New York, which was very helpful.

Our room, though upgraded, was small. It was essentially a normal-sized room subdivided into a bedroom and a living room, with a partition that did not go all the way to the ceiling. The foot of the bed touched the partition. In addition, WiFi was spotty.

The staff was friendly and helpful.
