“A Little Mixed Feeling about It”
Reviewed 12 July 2014

Overall, I have a nice stay in this hotel. The hotel is clean, nice sized, close to major tourism attractions like Forum and Capitolini Museum. The rooftop bar has a nice view of the city at night. It is also very close to a lot of restaurants just across the river.

But it is not perfect, while location is good as it is close to some attractions, it also has its drawbacks that nobody live in the area, so there are no convenience stores, bakery, coffee shop, or ATM. Thank goodness they provide free breakfast in the morning.

Like many travelers to Italy, I flew in and out of Rome, so we stayed this hotel twice, with a few days away in between in other parts of Italy. Upon my first check out, the receptionist said, this is a 30% off coupon for you next stay with us. I told her we will be back five days later. After confirming my reservation, she changed her story that the coupon is only valid for direct book with hotel via email or their website, not places like Booking.com. So it won't apply. That is not true because I did book it directly from their website. But argument is no use, and no discount for me.

I probably will not stay here again if I ever go to Rome in the future. It is a nice hotel, but I think I may choose to stay in an area where ordinary Romanos live

Dear guest,

Thank you for your review and for letting us know you opinion about us! I am glad to hear you liked the hotel overall, however, I am wondering that maybe you didn’t ask our reception about the convenient store, atm, coffee shop etc…because just behind the Hotel there is a little street called Via dei Fienili that has 3 restaurants, a typical Italian convenient shop that is a mini market selling everything from food to housekeeping or beauty products, there is also a nice coffee shop with tables outside and there is a ATM machine at the corner with Piazza Venezia (5 minutes walk). Regarding the 30% discount coupon, maybe my colleagues were not clear and there was a misunderstanding, because it is meant for future reservations, not existing ones, this is of course to coax new reservations and even though you used our website to book us, the reservation was an existing one already. Anyway, should you change your mind next time you come to Rome you will be able to use your coupon and take advantage of the discount and see the beautiful part of our neighbourhood (were Romans live) that you missed this last time.

Best regards,

Danielle

Forty seven hotel was all positives no complaints at all. Its location is perfect two blocks from the colosseum, roman formum and palatine hill. It is also two blocks from the tiber river and the wonderful trastevere district for authentic italian food.
The rooms are new, clean and large. They have all modern appliances and a wonderful shade system that completely shuts out the noise and light. There is a delightful roof top bar and restaurant with a gorgeous view overlooking the temple of hercules. We dined there one nigh and the food was excellent. The best sea bass i have ever had, I also had cocktails there on multiple occasions and it was a calming beautiful break from the busy city.
Breakfast was served every morning with a good selection of food great coffee and you could dine on an open air patio in the center of the hotel. The staff at the hotel was amazing and helpful always with a smile. They helped me get my cell phone working and made dinner reservations. A big plus they let us check in our room 3 hours early where we caught up on sleep from the over night flight. I would definitely recommend this hotel and would stay there again.

We stayed here July 2014 for our wedding anniversary (room located on 4th floor). Our welcome at the hotel was very charming and we were escorted to our room which was spacious and very clean. The room was quiet and with black-out blinds - we could barely (if at all) hear the street noise. Our package included dinner at the hotel roof-top restaurant. There was hardly anyone there and service was excellent. Food was good, but a bit heavy, so we took a nice long walk afterwards along the river, which was only a 5-min walk away.

Staff was very courteous in helping us book transport to/from the hotel and the airport. They also recommended restaurants, tours, etc. Very nice staff!!!

Breakfast was included. Coffee was excellent (as Italy is known for) but eggs/bacon were not the warmest and the bread was not really great. Otherwise there were lots of other options (yogurt, cereal, pastries).

Location is good but a bit far from public transport taking you to the main tourist attractions (expect a 10-15 min walk to the metro). We walked mostly everywhere (except Vatican which is quite far) but better be fast or you might get run over....

Dear guest,

Thank you for your review! We are happy to hear that you enjoyed your stay and the Hotel. There is a bus stop almost in front of the hotel and buses could take you to every part of Rome, in fact the metro is a 10 minute walk from us so we suggest buses, although, as you said, you could go walking everywhere, even to the Vatican that is a nice 45 minutes stroll and a lot of people do go walking there.
Regarding the food, I am sorry that you found it a bit heavy but of course it depends on what you order, there are, though, a lot of light choices for dinner.
We hope to welcome you here again in the future and send you our best wishes.

My husband and I only stayed here a night, but I wish all hotels could be this great. It was super clean and the rooms were very modern. The bed was comfortable, the staff helpful and the internet fast. It's right next to the forum and has a lovely garden to eat breakfast in.

Would definitely stay here again.

We travelled with three young children and found the location to be superb! Close to all major attractions, and the best part, a short walk across the bridge to great ristorantes and pizzerias(Dar Poet) in Trastevere after a long day on foot.
We got two connecting rooms that were connected by a hallway. The tripple room( one extra bed and two twin beds) was very large and the double bed was a decent size. All rooms have robes and slippers, coffee makers and a/c that was niceand cold!
Service great, breakfast was included and was just fine. Enough options but nothing extraordinary.

We looked at all 5 star accommodations in Rome but was extremely happy for chosing this hotel.

Room Tip: All rooms are fine as there are electric blinds to keep noise and light out.

We stayed for four days at the end of May, beginning of June. Great location especially for a first time in Rome. Loved the roof top deck at the end of the day - they served little sandwiches with our drinks which were great. Breakfast was terrific and included in the price. Service all around was excellent. Rome is a very busy city and we really enjoyed coming back to this oasis at the end of the day to relax. Everything we wanted to see was in close proximity and no matter where you walked - there were places to go and things to see. Found a great place for dinner close by - and enjoyed it so much - we went back a second time.

There was a notice given to us that a military parade would be rehearsing in the middle of the night! Never heard a thing from this traffic or all the other traffic on the street.

This modern hotel wasn't really in the middle of the action but at the same time, everything was easily accessible (both by walking and by double decker tour bus). We booked a rate that included breakfast. The breakfast was pretty good and served European buffet style. The room was pretty small even by European standards but it was adequate and we had enough space. If you are looking for a clean and affordable room in Rome, this is the place for you. If you are looking to be in the middle of the action, not the place for you.
