We recently took the Colosseum and Forum tour with Federica and had an amazing time. At first I wasn't sure what to think of the headsets that she gave us to hear her better but once we entered the crowded Colosseum I was glad to have it because not only did we not miss any info, but we were able to step away to take a picture and not miss a beat. I can't imagine visiting these locations without a guide. First of all, you are able to skip the line (even the large group tour line) and get right inside. Secondly, there is just so much history that is not apparent that without a guide, you'd miss so much. I was particularly glad we were part of such a small group because it would be easy to get lost or left behind in a large group and difficult to really see the sights. In the Forum, our guide had an interactive virtual reality app that let you visualize what used to be in that space 2000 years before. Since so much of the Forum is in true ruins, it was very helpful to really picture it and definitely helped engage the kids on the tour.
