I had never been to Italy so I was pretty unsure at the process. I found this apartment on the internet and thought I'd try it.
Booking was easily done and the owner Germana answered all of my questions swiftly. She quickly put me at ease as I was worried at my arrival time plus having to take a train. As she lives in the building, it was not a problem. A deposit is paid by Paypal to finalise the booking.
Germana emailed me the directions to the property. For a complete new timer, I had a little difficulty but I arrived easily & safely (only having to ask directions twice - that was more google's fault as it showed the property in two different places.) Once you open the door to the street, you do have approx 50 steep stairs to climb but apparently that is normal for Italy. There are two more secure doors so there are no problems with security.
The room is just as the website shows. It is very clean and tidy. A must for me. There is a kitchenette and a jacuzzi bath/shower (both of these were well used).. Germana also made sure that there is cutlery/plates/glasses and some bread, juice, spreads and nibbles. There is even a supermarket very close by for your other supplies.
I was fortunate to stay for 8 nights. Trastevere is a fantastic area full of great dining options. You can stand at the window of your room and people watch for hours if need be and then when your sick of the noise the double insulated windows shuts out the noise well. This room also has the appeal of location, location, location. It is an easy walk to everything and then when you do finally get tired, you can take either the H bus to Termini for the metros or the tram to Piazza Venezia.
Another added bonus was WiFi is included and it's fast connection. I was able to Skype to my family every morning.
I will definitely stay here again and I recommend it to any single/couple that wants some luxury and value for money.
This was a lovely studio in the middle of Trastevere, a great area in Rome. It is on one of the main streets and yet extremely quiet (not even a beep was heard)...It is compact but very well laid out, with air conditioning. We walked everywhere from here- from Vatican City to the Forum to the Spanish Steps... etc. etc. Germana, the host, is lovely and was very helpful and easily available. Would stay here again!

Absolutely excellent location and extremely well designed and appointed. The hosts are extremely considerate and very helpful and have done a wonderful renovation job on the room.
There is a large spa bath/shower for those exhausted feet after travel and walking all day. A large and very comfortable bed with soft pillows & air conditioning. A kitchenette area with the basics, espresso machine, fridge, sink and if needed a small two burner stove.
Close for all transport needs; tram, autobus, taxi, or by foot (the only way to see Roma!)
Trastevere is a buzz location with great eateries, shopping & proximity to all Roma has to offer. Amiamo Roma e la Suite in Rome/Trastevere!
