“Excellent Hotel”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 9 March 2014 via mobile

I stayed here with family in March 2014. This is a great hotel for a long weekend in Rome. What made it for me was the standard of the room: spacious, modern, clean, functional (no fuss), comfortable and free WiFi (with lots of signal!). Members of staff were friendly and knowledgable, and the breakfast service just right (and obviously the rooftop feature is a treat). Someone has clearly got their head screwed on in terms of delivering such a good product.

Staff friendly and helpful, our 'superior' room was spacious and very comfortable with a big bed and a table with two chairs and room to move about. Shame there wasn't quite enough space for storing clothes over a 4 day stay. Also a few hooks in the bathroom would have made life a little easier, but really that's quibbling! The main thing was the comfort and good sound insulation from the street outside (though the interior door was less well insulated and noises in the corridor was sometimes a bit annoying). The roof terrace (too cold in february for breakfast outside!) was lovely with great views and the breakfast room in the 'conservatory' type extension on the roof was very good; this doubled up as a bar in the evening and sunset over Rome while sipping a campari was brilliant - again very attentive staff.

My boyfriend and I arrived late on a Friday night in December and received immediate and attentive service. We had booked the most basic room type so were pleasantly surprised when we were upgraded to a Junior Suite. The rooms are beautifully designed with huge comfy beds and even the option to select different pillows from a pillow menu. Breakfast on the rooftop (yes, even in December!) was a particular highlight, with fantastic views across the city. The hotel is also in a very convenient location; just 5 minutes walk from Termini station and about a half hour walk to the Coliseum. All in all a great value, well located, beautifully laid out boutique hotel.

Loved this hotel.modern furnishings, comfy big bed, enormous bath and fab shower. Very clean and tidy. Lovely bar/breakfast room at the top with amazing views of Rome. It's in great location, close to transport terminus and sights of interest. Incredibly friendly and helpful staff. Would highly recommend. Will definitely be revisiting.

Stayed here for 3 nights at the end of January. Hotel is located about 5 mins walk from the termini, if like me, you have never been to Rome before, there are multiple exits at the termini, to get to the hotel make sure you take the exit that is signed as "Via Marsalla" turn left and walk until you see the flag signs for the Independent which is located on the right hand side of the road. It took me an hour to find the hotel but hopefully this will help you! :)
The reception area is very small but this did not bother me. Hotel room was very spacious and clean no complaints there. Breakfast was included in the price and was basic enough (pastries, bread, meat cheese, yoghurt, juices, scrambled egg)but good value at the same time. In the evening time they serve drinks, sandwiches and salads.
Overall I was very happy with my stay at The Independent and will for sure stay again in the future :) Highly Recommend!

We have recently stayed at this hotel and I must say that it is a wonderful place! It is right next to Termini which makes it very convenient for the metro and a variety of busses to go everywhere.
The room was large with quality decoration and totally clean!!The stuff made it like new every morning and there was cafe and tea in.The bed was a bit hard. The view wasn't great from the room, as it was at the back of the hotel, but it was open to the eye.The roof top and the breakfast there is absolutely great and with good variety.Nothing wrong with the elevator,if you know the sizes in Rome!Don't be put off by the location;it is very safe day or night.Although it was raining all the time, whole Rome is an amazing old museum.Only negative thing is that quality food at restaurants is very expensive!Best thing is the coffee!!We will definitely be back at this hotel!!100% success!

Room Tip: Try to choose a high floor like 5,6 or 7th as they are quiet and have a better view, but it is a quie...

We spent 2 nights here and couldn't have asked for more, clean spacious rooms, really comfortable bed and plenty of tea and coffee available.

The staff could not have been better, all were friendly and helpful.

Really convenient for train station (5 minute walk) and it took us approximately 15-20 mins to get to Trevi fountain etc.

Lovely breakfast with fabulous views.

We will definitely stay again next time I'm in Rome!
