We were originally due to stay at Hotel Argentina but they called us the day before we left the UK to tell us they had a problem with their air conditioning and so they had transferred us to this hotel instead. At first we were a bit apprehensive but we had nothing to worry about!

I agree that this is not really a hotel - they are apartments with a reception desk that is open from 8am until 7.30pm. However, for us this was perfect. You are given a set of keys so that you can come and go as you please. As their is no restaurant you are served breakfast in your room, which we preferred to getting up and going to a buffet anyway! The rooms are lovely and probably bigger than most other rooms in Rome. They are clean, spacious and are traditionally Italian with shutter windows and stone ceilings. The bed was big and comfortable, the air con worked great and the bathroom clean. The shower could have been a big more powerful but nothing to stop you from staying here.

The reception staff were so helpful. They made sure we got the best out of our stay by giving us advice, a map with directions and bus routes and they even helped with restaurant bookings etc. When we first arrived the wifi wasn't working and We explained that we wanted to speak to our kids on Skype. The next day they arranged for a technician to come out and fix the wifi which was strong enough to use Skype in our room.

The best thing about this hotel though is the location! You are just steps away from the pantheon and we walked pretty much everywhere - it's about 20 mins to the colosseum and 10 mins from the Trevi fountain, Spanish steps, plaza nova. We got the bus to the Vatican City which is just a 5 minute bus ride away.

We hope to return to Rome again soon and when we do we will book here again!

Quiet, perfect location in old Rome, next to the Pantheon and walking distance from Piazza Navona and Trevi Fountain. Steps away from the best coffee in the city too where you can also get a pastry for breakfast. Rooms are small but luxurious and spotlessly clean. Staff were very friendly and helpful. We loved staying here and would come back again.

We really enjoyed our stay in this hotel. First of all the staff was really nice and helpful, always smiling and ready to help! Then location is just perfect: you are just a few meters away of the Pantheon, so right in the middle of the historic centre. The room was nice, with high cellars and very clean. The view was not exceptional as the window opened on a internal courtyard but it was really quiet.
The sole negative point was a bad smell from the bathroom, but we think that it is a problem due to the canalisation of the building.
We definitely recommend la dimora degli dei if you are looking for nice well located rooms in Roma!

this is not a hotel. it is nothing but a room. very unsafe. One attendant during the day only. it is not clean. found used soap in the bathroom. specially difficult since it has no facilities. for breakfast you have to walk to a restaurant that the "place" deals with for guest. This facility is open after 7:30am. not the best place to go either.

Room Tip: not recommended. too lonely. if you have problems at night the phones don't work in the rooms. i...

We stayed seven nights in DDD. The hotel is just next to Pantheon so the location couldn't be better. Most of the main attractions are very close. Room was very clean and bigger than we expected. Air condition worked nicely. There was even a jacuzzi in the bathroom! Breakfast was an okay buffet in nearby restaurant at Piazza del Rotonda (just a minute away). Very friendly staff helped us with a big smile whenever we needed something. Only negative thing about the room was some bad odor which we noticed every time entering the room but it took only ten seconds after that and we couldn't smell it anymore.

Dimora Degli Dei will surely be our first choice when going to Rome next time.

I will begin my review by staying that we were told the hotel had only been open for 3 weeks (days??) when we arrived; the staff was clearly inexperienced with the hotel, but very friendly. The location was excellent - just steps away from the Pantheon but not on the square itself, so it was very quiet. Breakfast was adequate but consisted of all boxed and packaged items - yogurt, cheese and toast. Coffee was good. Everything new and clean, but our room had an awful sewer smell coming from the toilet and bidet when we first arrived; we asked to switch rooms but no others were available. I don't think the hotel could do anything about it; and it was mostly gone by the next day, but it was extremely unpleasant. Also our window would not open and although we were told that it would be fixed it was not. Finally, our room had only one mostly used toilet paper roll when we arrived. I had to go to the front desk to ask for another. By the last day of our trip we had run out again; it was never replaced. Our toilet paper roll holder was also coming out of the wall, which I found strange for a newly opened hotel.
