“Fresh seafood option for a change”

We got here before the crowd came. We enjoyed our meal probably because I thought the service was extraordinary. They were sure to explain to you how the whole system works so that you will be a repeat customer. Prices were of good value too.

“simple place for good seafood”
Reviewed 22 April 2014

I went there with friends on a Sunday evening and expected a crowded place which not the case. The serving procedure sounded complicated in the beginning which it wasn´t in the end. You may actually receive the different dishes almost together. We had squid, sea bass and shrimps which were all very good and some salads which were fresh and tasty. Don´t expect a great service but the food is good, the ambiance is like at a "fish market" and the prices are very reasonable. Certainly a place to visit again.

“Buzz and good food”
Reviewed 17 April 2014

We went back to Fish Market last night as I bought a coupon for a dinner. We enjoyed great tagliolini with aragostella and 1Kg of mixed (calamari, sea bass etc) grilled fish. Service is very minimal, the place is super crowded but the food is good and generally, prices are competitive. I recommend it once more for anyone fuss-free and looking at fast, quality food.

However, my only negative comment, is that although generally staff is friendly, the waitress was really grumpy, never smiled and made me feel somehow uncomfortable. My suggestion to the management, considering my long standing experience as a waitress, is that staff needs to be friendly no matter what (unless cases of particularly rude customers). We all have our issues and problems but when people go out for dinner, they do so to lighten up and be served with a smile.

Beside, great option in the very heart of the best bit of Trastevere.

“Fine but not great”
Reviewed 1 March 2014

great idea, nice busy atmosphere, very young feeling - more like the west Village than Rome. My grilled fish was good, my salad was fresh and generous but sitting in a lot of oil and the fried calamari was tasty but a bit rubbery. Reasonable priced - fine but not great.

“Tourists beware”
Reviewed 21 February 2014

We were treated terribly here. Strange ordering process. You fill out an order form, take it to the till, pay in full, go to the bar to collect your wine then sit and wait.
We ordered 7 dishes including appetisers, entrees and main courses. Then everything arrived together, an entrée then a main course then the appetisers and rest of the order. Barely enough room on the very small table to receive all the dishes, we had to scrap things off the serving trays on to our plates to make room. The stuffed squid was cold, a replacement was provided but this was not much warmer. Initial thought was "this must a local custom" but no, other tables were being served dishes in order as one would expect. i.e. finish the appetiser before the next course arrives. When we complained to the manger she offered a free dessert but we didn't want a dessert. Lucky really because that would have probably been delivered with our main courses!. Obvious that locals were being treated much better than us visitors. Having paid up front we couldn't bargain any settlement so left, disappointed and upset. Stay away
