My husband and I stayed here in June for our honeymoon. The two reasons I chose this apartment specifically were 1) the location and 2) the reviews about Lucia the owner. We absolutely made the right choice! Lucia is wonderful and a very helpful hostess. She even assisted me with booking transportation to and from the airport. She speaks English well, and is very prompt at responding to questions. The apartment was very clean and even stocked with some nibbles when we first arrived. Lucia herself was here to greet us and even brought us a pizza for dinner which was such a treat as we were both hungry and tired! The bed is very comfortable, the area is in a safe neighborhood and is quiet at night, the air conditioning works well, and while the shower was a bit small for my husband; it didn’t take away from our enjoyment of the space.
This apartment is located in the perfect area to easily reach all the important sights of Rome by foot. We also thoroughly enjoyed our close proximity to the market at Campo Di Fiore so that we could get fresh fruits and veggies each day. We had a fabulous honeymoon and hope to return again some day!
Grazie Lucia, Ciao!!
We had the opportunity to stay in this wonderful apartment for 4 weeks. We couldn’t have been happier. Lucia arranged for our pickup at the airport & met us at the apartment. From the beginning she was a wonderful host. Lucia showed us where everything was & explained how to work everything. There was a great welcome package with all the breakfast necessities & several basic starter items essential for cooking meals. The kitchen is so well equipped you can make all your meals in! BUT, the location is perfect for dining out as there are many great restaurants nearby. If you need suggestions, Lucia is able to provide these. Campo di Fiori Market is through a small passage for fresh produce, there is a Punto Simply grocery around the corner. The wifi is really good, the bed is so comfortable, the bathroom spotlessly clean & there is lots of storage. We found everything to see & do within walking distance and buses just at the end of the street if you want public transportation. We would certainly wish to stay here again if we ever get back to Rome.
The flat is spotlessly clean, tastefully furnished and very convenient for its location near the shops and restaurants of Campo de Fiori, and a short walk from Piazza Navona. The area is very lively and can be noisy but the flat’s windows look into a reasonably quiet small square with parked cars and little or no pedestrian traffic. Lucia, the owner, was very welcoming and helpful; we already stayed in one of her flats some time ago and she gas confirmed to be an excellent host once again.
Beautiful and situated in the best place in the heart of antique Rome. You can reach many places of interests by foot without using buses or underground and this is so pleasant. The apartment has two rooms well furnished with small kitchen. All products can be found on the famous market at Campo de'Fiori which is 2 minutes from you flat and if you can stay at home you can cook with local vegetables or fruits. Bathroom is big and very well cleaned. I was very satisfied you can enjoyed it too.
We couldn't have asked for a better place to stay in Rome. Not only was the apartment spotless and well equiped, we were steps away from a great bakery, restaurants, plazas, buses and within walking distances of historic sites. If being in a neigborhood of narrow cobbled streets, old buildings, small shops and restaurants is your cup of tea, this is the place for you. Our hostess was extremely helpful and even rescued us at night when we lost our keys. Perfect experience.
My wife and I stayed in this apartment for a week two years ago; stayed for a bit longer on our next visit to Rome, in 2017, and will surely stay here when we next come to Rome. Everything is exactly as described in the listing. The location is terrific not only for the reasons stated there, but also because of the proximity of a taxi stand, several bus stops and a tram stop, so that everywhere you might want to go is easily accessible. There is a good café, about three minutes away, patronized mostly by locals, where we start every day with coffee and a pastry -- and an excellent gelato shop about four minutes from the apartment. Lucia, the owner/manager, has thought of everything, including, in addition to the items noted in the listing, a plug adaptor, umbrellas, great water pressure in the shower, and a good collection of Rome maps and guidebooks. If any questions arise, she is easy to reach and is very helpful. The apartment has ample drawer space and hanging space - and hangers - for clothes.; there is also a good storage space for luggage. The place is in great shape, and is very clean. I can't think of anything I would want Lucia to change.
Before I comment on the accommodation, I must say that Lucia is the kindest, most generous and welcoming of owners! From the moment we met her until our final hug goodbye she was gracious, helpful and understanding; she even offered to reserve a car to take us to the airport. We have stayed in many apartments around the world and Lucia stands out as the best owner by far!
The apartment itself is in an outstanding position in the very center of Rome. The building itself dates back to Roman times and is part of the original Theatre of Pompey, where Julius Caesar was assassinated. The street on which the apartment is located, Via di Grotta Pinta (Painted Grotto Way) is built upon the original location of the stage. The apartment is very compact but affords every necessity. It is spotlessly clean and freshly decorated. It says something for the thought and care that has gone into the design of the apartment that, despite its small footprint, it has a washing machine, dishwasher, television, comfortably sized bathroom, in addition to a spacious bedroom, sitting area and kitchenette. During the day the neighborhood bustles with locals and a few tourists who have strayed from the Campo di Fiore, just a few yards away through a secret passageway, but at nighttime all is peaceful and blissfully quiet.
Excellent local restaurants are within a few minutes' walk, a bakery to die for is just around the corner on Via dei Chiarvari, the Carrefour grocery store is also two minutes' walk from the apartment, and all Roman attractions are within walking distance. We never felt the need to take a bus, metro, or taxi -- everything was easily within reach.
I cannot recommend this apartment highly enough. It, and its owner, Lucia, are truly outstanding.
BTW, if you are in need of an excellent and knowledgeable private guide in Rome, I can recommend Agnes Crawford at "Understanding Rome". Check Agnes out on TripAdvisor. She, like Lucia, is a treasure!
