We saw this restaurant when we first arrived in Rome and never thought we would be eating there. After a week of pizza and pasta we were ready for a change and decided to go for chinese food. The food was excellent with good portions and the price very reasonable. The Grand Dragon is Highly recommended.

It was rainy when my friends and I got there on our first night in Rome. It was good to find some familiarity in a new place so we headed to Grand Dragon for Chinese food.

Location: it is right at the Presso Piazzale Ports Pia where there are a few museums and galleries nearby.

Ambience of restaurant: it is a huge restaurant with a basement sitting area. Clean and air conditioned. Staff was friendly.

Food: delicious and authentic Chinese food.

Must try: Double-boiled soup with pork ribs and lotus roots, roast duck

Opened by Hong Kong owner, the place is filled with Chinese patrons who like good Chinese food.

The signage may not be so visible at night, as we missed the restaurant entrance when we got there. Just look out for a red signs that says "Ristorante Cinese", you will find Grand Dragon.

Food were nice and very reasonable priced. Staff are nice and the restaurant are nicely decorated. Can be reach by transport easily. Nice tea(only 1.50 per person) and no extra charges. Recommended

used to rave about this place, but went with a party of 9 and after the antipasti ,the food was well under par.I asked if they had changed hands as the quality had deteriorated so much.

This month I have been in this restaurant a couple of times with my family. I must confess that the first time, when we arrived in front of the restaurant and peek inside we were tempted not to enter because it was quite empty the atmosphere of the place look a bit sad. Nevertheless we had a walk nearby and when we passed in front of the restaurant again, just 15 minutes later, it was almost full and all the customers were Chinese! So we thought it was a good sign and decided to enter and we were extremely lucky to find the last available table there. After us other persons tried to have a table just to be told thst regrettably the restaurant was full. We ordered white rice, steamed seabass and what they call "Chinese broccoli", a very tasty vegetable cooked with oyster sauce. The fish was fresh and cooked really well, steamed with soya sauce, and it was really delicious. The price is fair and the only negative note is that, both times we went, we noticed that the most of the other tables were given free watermelon after the dinner whilst it was never served to us, I don't know why but maybe it depends on the bill amount to be paid. Anyway, watermelon or not, a Chinese restaurant to try.
