“Best Kept Secret In Rome”
Reviewed 7 October 2013

Gianluca our host could not be more welcoming or helpful.
Nothing was too much: Planning walks to make the best use of our time and packing in the sites, recommending local restaurants etc.
Casa Martini was a fantastic location, within walking distance to all the sites but also close to the metro if you want to save your legs .
It is modern and very well appointed. We loved the fact we had the use of a kitchen if we wanted fully stocked with tea, coffee, milk and cookies!

Room Tip: Small BnB with not a bad room, windows double glazed to cut out all the traffic noise.

My parents and I stayed for 3 nights at the Casamartini part of the QuodLibet B&B and we could not have been more impressed. It was clear that this is a B&B to set the standards for all other B&Bs. The room (as well as the bathroom) was tastefully modern, bright, big, and kept clean and comfortable. The surprise bonus was a TV which was connected to the internet and had its own wireless keyboard! There was a great selection of breakfast, which was delivered in generous portions and at flexible hours. Our host, Gianluca, was an absolute star. He very patiently explained to us (helped to plan itineraries for us) how to best experience and see Rome with the time that we had, changed the breakfast hours to fit our needs, and made us feel very welcomed. The location is really ideal as it is only minutes away from the Metro and the Vatican. I am definitely a fan and would not hesitate to recommend this fantastic establishment!!!

One minor things that could be improved: I found it hard to use an Italian keyboard (how do I get to that @ sign!?) and it was a little challenging to operate the TV/internet without knowing Italian...if there could be some instructions for using this system for non-native Italian speakers, that would be very helpful!

My husband and I stayed here for 5 nights at the beginning of our 2 week tour of Italy. Couldn't have picked a better place! Agostino was a great host throughout the stay, offered recommendations, offered to make bookings for us, and even bought and picked up a cake for my hubby's birthday (candles and all). "Above and beyond" doesn't even begin to describe the service you get from Agostino and his team. We stayed in the green room, which was nice and very large, with more than enough space to have breakfast in every morning. The breakfasts were amazing: coffee, eggs, ham, cheese, yogurt, fruit, toast, and fresh pastries from the bakery just downstairs. (the smell of the bakery every time you walk in the building was an added bonus!) On top of that Gianluca gifted us with a bottle of Chianti at the end of our stay. The only downside was they spoiled us so much that all of the other B&B's we stayed in around Italy couldn't compete. Don't think twice. Stay here!

Room Tip: We stayed in the Green Room. Large size. Faces the street, but not much noise at all. Request it if...

My husband and I stayed here for two nights at the beginning of our honeymoon in Italy. It was an excellent place to stay. Agostino is very welcoming and helped us get acquainted with the city of Roma upon our arrival by going over some walks we could do and answering all of our questions. He really went above and beyond, actually, by helping us out when we needed to make an emergency call, and surprising us with a thoughtful gift for our honeymoon. Our room was very spacious, comfortable, clean, and quiet. It was great to stay here after our long flight because we were able to get an excellent nights sleep! They also own Quod Libet, which is basically right across the hall from Casa Martini, so either one would be a great choice.

Wonderful stay for our first time in Rome. Stayed 4 nights from Aug 12-16 in the large and very spacious "green" room. We really enjoyed the very warm and welcoming hospitality by Gianluca. It exceeded our expectations even after the many great reviews. It was the personal touch that made the difference. This included a cold drink and snack upon our arrival with a overview of Rome and a chance to ask any questions we had. Tips and recommended restaurants were given to us and locations which we appreciated. Many insider tips are provided on how to beat the lines, local events and anything else.
For restaurants we ate at Il Duca in Travestere and Da Francesca near Piazza Navona. Both were delicious and used fresh ingredients and were off the beaten track. Next to our table at Da Francesco, a bunch of local Italian men were playing chess all evening on the street.
We really like the breakfasts in our room and had more than enough to eat and service was very quick. We enjoyed being able to touch base each morning with Gianluca to ask any questions we had and talk about the previous day.
Great location for this place. The bakery in the basement is open 24hrs per day and there is a new gelato stand down the street near the metro. It is called Lemongrass Gelato and has amazing artisan gelato which we had every day.
They go above and beyond at this place. A couple other highlights are that on the last day we forgot to print our Ryan air boarding cards and with only notification the evening before, in the morning he brought our printed passes so we didn't have to pay a ridiculous fee at the airport. Also with my wife being 6 months pregnant, we were given a celebratory bottle of wine to take home and enjoy following delivery of our child. Very thoughtful gesture.
Highly recommended. Quodlibet is the apartment next to this one.

THIS IS THE PLACE TO STAY IN ROME! Gianluca helped us KNOW Rome. On our first full day in Rome, we walked from our B&B to the Colosseum. We could have taken the metro (just a few steps from our door), but my family really wanted to walk. Gianluca suggested the roads that we should take, and that made the difference in our stay. We walked through wonderful side streets and piazzas, stopped into shops and the best gelato maker in Rome (Giolitti), and prayed in several Churches before we reached our destination. From that point on for the rest of our stay in Rome, we sought the suggestions of our "innkeeper" and walked to most, if not all, of our destinations. Before we went on our journeys, a wonderful breakfast was prepared for us. And when we returned, there was no better place to rest than our room, which was always clean and comfortable.

Room Tip: We only stayed in the Blue Room of Casa Martini, and that was pretty good for our entire stay.

We would definitely recommend staying here! First off, the location is extremely convenient, a five minute walk from the Vatican and St Peter's and very near a metro station, making the city only 10 to 15 minutes away by metro.
Secondly, despite arriving very early, the owner welcomed us, taking our suitcases up and showing us to our room. The rooms are cosy, clean and have TV and a good sized bathroom.
Gianluca and Agostino were very welcoming, helpful and extremely friendly, giving us great tips and recommendations for places to go everyday. They were able to give us great walking routes and restaurant recommendations, making our stay that much more enjoyable and worthwhile, and making us feel very much at home.
A place a we would definitely go back to!
