“Authentic Italian”
Reviewed 14 June 2013

My Husband & I found this little gem of a restuarant while visiting Rome in early June. We were staying in the area of this great eattery. We wondered down the street on our 1st evening & came across it & thought we would give it a try. We ate here for the next 3 nights. So that really says it all!It is a small restuarant, very tastefully decorated, giving it a warm & friendly atmosphere. Family run & the staff make you so welcome. Their English was very limited but this added to the experiance. We managed to converse via a Mobil translation app! It was fun! The menu was very varied & gives you English translation. The food is excellent & cooked to order. Fish, chicken, pizza & pasta. We had them all ( not all at once!) & each one was as good as the next. Varied stater & sweet menu to. We had a starter each night but could never manage sweets. The wine & beer were very good. The bill was surprisingly reasonable especially for Rome. We had 2 courses, beer, wine & extras & our bill averaged €40 per night!! Considering we paid €18 for 2 beers in central Rome,we were more than happy! Excellent value for money. This restuarant is slightly off the tourist trail making it even better, but it is in the Vatican area. We would not hesitate to highly recommend this place to eat. Our waitress was soo lovely & kind. I forgive her for thinking we were American!! Lol. Just go here. You won't be disappointed. Great food & drink & fantastic value for money. Hope to return here some day if I'm ever back in Rome. Thank you for making our 4 dinners we had with you, so very special. You have given us a great memory of eating in "real" Rome.

“Enjoyed it so much we went back”
Reviewed 13 March 2013

Interesting that all the other reviews are by Italians who seem divided about this restaurant. It is a bit out of the way and we had passed it several times and not really noticed it but we were looking for a place to eat near our accommodation and in the evening with the lights on it looked more interesting. It was pretty empty but soon started to fill up and it seemed that people had been before judging by the way they were greeted. We found the staff most friendly and the food was really good and in generous portions. The house white was very drinkable. It was one of the few places where my Italian was not answered in English! Very good indeed and we went back for coffee in the morning.
