“Small getaway in Rome”
Reviewed 1 December 2013

This place is very close to train station. The room we stayed in was really small and narrow so taking a small suitcase is recommended. The shower, as in most of Italy are smaller than what you would find in the USA, so be prepared. As is typical in Italy they serve yogurt and toast with juice/coffee for breakfast. The front desk person was very helpful with being available late into the night for a late checkin. She was also very helpful at finding a place for my husband and I to dance Salsa when we inquired.

Room Tip: If you are a couple make sure you choose a double, the beds are really small.

My mother and I stayed here twice on our first Italy trip (Sept/Oct 2013). We reservered the same room - Roma - for our return to Rome once we had stayed here a couple of nights. It was clean, fairly spacious, comfortable bed and had a great (if very tiny) shower. We asked for two twin beds and they were made up as twins but are still right together, but it was comfortable and each person had her own space. Our room had a tv and a kettle plus tea & coffee.

The location suited us very well. Quick, clean & easy metro to everywhere we wanted to go; two excellent pizza places within a few minutes walk; gelato down the street; markets directly across the street; two supermarkets within 1/2 - 1 block.

Frederica was a great host. Breakfast is provided and there were usually two or three kinds of sweet cakes plus toast, prepacked croissants & bread, yogurt, fruit juices, coffee. Turns out this was far superior to breakfasts supplied elsewhere and we got a little spoiled! Love the chocolate covered cake, especially! Only one day did we find that there was very little left for breakfast, which was disappointing, but wasn't a deal breaker.

Wifi is free and works pretty well in the room. Was a bit touchy outside on the little private balcony. Balcony was a great place to watch the action at the markets and observe the crazy traffic (it's pretty quiet most of the time, but at morning commute is busy & hectic!)

The Roma room is the only one with a private bathroom and for me it's well worth the extra cost not to have to share. Overall the room is quiet though you can hear other guests going in and out of their rooms, especially the tumbling of the locks. Closing the door to the balcony and the bathroom virtually eliminated any street noise, a huge plus if that sort of thing bothers you.

I'd stay here again and would recommend it.

We couldn’t have chosen a better B&B for our 5 days stay in Rome. Everything was great, we have nothing to complain about. The B&B is located within a 3 minute walk to the metro station which is on line A so directly linked to the city center. It is a quiet area during the night so don't worry, you won't be losing any sleep because of touristic noise! :)
The rooms are really unique. We stayed in the New York room and we shared the bathroom with Paris room. Both room and bathroom are very clean, tidy and decorated to the tiniest detail. The owner's (Federica) attention to details and passion for decorating make this B&B special and unique. On the hallway there is even a Tea & Relax corner where you can pick up a cup of tea or coffee (it is of course free :) ).
The breakfast room is really nice, each room having its separate table (again, really nicely decorated). For breakfast you can have biscuits, milk, cereals, croissants and different pastries, nutella, jam, butter, yogurt, tea and coffee. The coffee is excellent! It’s the real Italian yummy coffee!
Last but not least, Federica, the B&B owner is a young and beautiful Italian woman who speaks English, is very friendly and helpful. She gave us the tip to go to Trastevere one evening and we enjoyed there the best pizza and the not-so-crowded-with-tourists Rome.
We will definitely return to Rome (especially since my boyfriend proposed to me while we were in Rome :) ) and we will definitely stay at the Domus dei Consoli B&B!
Also, I forgot to mention that they provide free WiFi access. And the price for breakfast and accommodation is more than fair!

Unique, cosy and romantic.
Thanks to great location and endless hospitality of Federica, Domus Dei Consoli is perfect place to rest and relax in Rome. Each room is different journey around the world and Federica is always ready to recommend the best option. It should be mentioned that it is located close enough to city center to travel conviently without hassle, but at the same time local area is not affected by city centret price madness.

Our trip to Rome was great the city is amazing and this bed and breakfast was the best choice we could do for a great balance of cost, location and services.
The location was very convenient since the subway was very close and we were in heart of Rome in less than 20 minutes. We had always very good complimentary breakfast and the environment was always clean and the service accurate.
I would definitively use again for our trip to Rome!
