Gianluca (owner) welcomed us in just before opening - he's a friendly chap. The menu is a mix of Italian inspired dishes with refined twists. We ordered a starter and a main each - neither of us were super hungry but it was just the right amount of food to feel you had eaten well. The confit of salmon starter and the suvee+charcoal octopus were both fab, and the tiramisu to finish was bang on. Super friendly staff, refined food and relaxed atmosphere. Recommended :-).

Came here based on recommendation from a friend. Delicious food, friendly staff. The vibe is relaxed and intimate, perfect for a date. The waiters speak excellent English and explain the whole menu, but it's not a tourist restaurant. Most of the other people who were there when we were seemed to be locals who eat here regularly.

We only had a 1 night layover in Rome, but my wife was interested in La Fata Ignorante based on prior stays in this area of Rome (great staging area for visiting - near Pyramide subway stop!).

We were warmly greeted by Gianluca upon arrival and our meal began. The starters are not to be missed, try a couple and share - the seafood appetizers dazzled. For entrees, I had the octopus ragu, wife and #1 son the "calamari curls" and #2 son the tuna crudo. The wine list is not huge but is reasonably priced and they have taken care to represent most of the wine areas of Italy. Outside of Toscana and Piemonte, there are great choices that will pair extremely well with their menu. We will definitely visit again!

I was looking for a restaurant that could help me with my marriage proposal. I had arranged two guitarists and it turned out to be very difficult to find a restaurant that allowed this. After a long search I found La Fata Ignorante who was even willing to open half an hour earlier! When we arrived, Gianluca played his role very well and made an unforgettable evening for us! The service was fantastic and the dishes were very tasty. My girlfriend did not realized anything and she said YES! I would definitely recommend eating here (even if it is not for a marriage proposal ;) )

Whenever traveling abroad, I particularly enjoy experiencing life of the locals - there is only so much you can learn about local culture from places mainly geared toward tourists. In this case, I looked on Trip Advisor for a place further away from the city's center in hopes of finding a place I'd want to frequent if I were living in Rome. Pictures and reviews for "La Fata Ignorante" were enough to pique my interest and I called to make a reservation. When we arrived, we were greeted by Gianluca, who turned out to be the owner. The warm ambiance and tasteful decorum were exactly what I was hoping for, and most of the patrons were local. The food was great - I don't think I'm articulate enough to give it justice, but I wouldn't be afraid to bring a first date there. :) The service and attention from the owner were perfect - from food and wine recommendations to a backstory on the name of the restaurant when I asked about it. All in all, I think this was one of the best dining experiences I've had in Rome and I look forward to coming back to work my way through the rest of their menu.
