“Great pizza, but where's the ambience?”

We had heard Leoncino's had great pizza, and they really did! We went there our first night in Rome, had pizza at least 3-4 more times, and our crowd voted Leoncino's as the best. No ambience, though. Bright fluorescent lights, blah tables with cafe chairs, no decoration to speak of. So if you're just into the food...

Not the typical tourist place, the service might seem a little rough, but the pizza is really tasteful and the prices are very reasonable.

Cozy little pizza restaurant. They serve the typical Roman pizza, thin and cruncy. It was/is the Best pizza I had in Rome in the last three years...plus the waiter is super cool

Simply the best pizza I had in rome due to its super thin crust and delicious flavors. The restaurant is small and cosy giving it a very traditional and authentic feel. I recommend the bresaola pizza as well as the fungi pizza.

Pizzeria Leoncino is tucked away on a small, off-the-beaten path street a few minutes from Piazza di Spagna near Via Corso. This is where local Romans flock to when they want a great pizza at a reasonable price. I ate here twice during my one week stay in Rome. Each time the place was packed with Italians. Businessmen & women, families, professors, students. The pizzas are all made with a paper thin crust and are melt-in-your-mouth delicious. Various antipasti are on the menu. You can order red & white house wines by the quarter, half, full carafe. Beer is available on tap or by the bottle and there are several desserts to choose from. No frills ambiance. This is the kind of old world pizzeria you'd expect to find in the Italian neighborhoods of Boston, New York, Philly. You don't go here for the checkerboard table cloths and paper napkins. The star of the show is the pizza. Fantastico!
