“Best host & hostess ever... Unbelievable service standard!!!”
Reviewed 6 June 2013

My parents had stayed with Max & Lavinia in late April ( do apologize for the late review ). And I could not recommend ENOUGH to every body about this beautiful establishment! It's not only a beautiful, spacious, and convenient place to stay in Rome, what makes it so perfect is the PEOPLE who runs it.
As my parents speaks NO ITALIAN at all and are well into their 60s, Max made sure 200% attentive service from DAY 1 when we made inquiry of their suite(note that we had not even BOOKED yet), many helpful e-mail had been sent by him some doesn't even concern his business, but more general information about Italy.
After we made our decision he helped us all he could, such as airport pick ups, taxi drivers; recommended tour operator, guides, so my parents can have a smooth trip in Rome even without speaking the language.
And when they arrived late at night by the apartment, my parents' favorite yogurt and fruits were waiting for them at the apartment for their breakfast next day. He helped them to set up internet connections so we can check on our parents from overseas, walk them to bus stations in the morning to get tickets; called their next destination's hotel ahead to get the traffic directions.... The list can go on forever, so I am just going to cut it short! You have to experience it to believe!!!
We are overwhelmed to find some one like Max & Lavinia, normally a good service to an accommodation is a bonus; but here I must say, the beautiful and clean suite that they run is simply an extra bonus to THEIR CORDIAL HOSPITALITY!!! We are lucky to be staying with you. And next time any of our family traveling to Rome, AL CENTRO, oh, no, I should say which ever apartment Max & Lavinia is running will be our choice to stay!

Room Tip: Both suites are beautiful...

Beautiful spacious apartment in a very safe location. It is within walking distance to the vatican, castel sant angelo, piazza navona, the trevi fountain, and the campo di fiori. Best way to get around is with the bus system. Everything was spotless and we had what we needed to cook. Max and Lavinia are the best hosts and Max gave us a tour of the surrounding area the day we arrived, proving very helpful to help us get our bearings. Lavinia is so sweet and she answered any question we had. We will definitely be back on our next trip to Rome!

We decided to rent an apartment as we traveled with our baby daughter and one additional family person. Being the first time, we had some concerns given the stories one can hear and find on the Internet.
Still we decided to take a chance and contacted Max&Lavinia to get more information about the available apartments. They were always very helpful, clear and complete on their replies.
This lead us to take the decision and when we arrived in Rome, it was simply perfect.
The apartment was close to everywhere. We could do a short walk to the Vatican or to Piazza Navonna or to most of the main Rome attractions. We had also a local market very close which was convenient to acquire specific baby products or just fresh fruits.
The apartment itself was exactly what the pictures on the web show. One will not get fooled when entering into the apartment.
Overall we are extremely happy with our choice and clearly recommend everyone to consider this choice when visiting Rome.

We are sticklers about location, cleanliness, comfort and value - and this apartment met all our requirements PERFECTLY! The hosts were a joy to meet and more than accommodating - making sure that we understood our location and the details of the apartment thoroughly. It was a very short walk to fabulous neighborhood restaurants and shops, and the attractions of Roma were all around us. If we weren't up for walking, the bus stop was just a block away - BUT most everything was in walking distance, and a beautiful walk at that. The apartment is located in a very safe neighborhood with a supermarket and several cafe's only a few steps away. The apartment was perfectly clean with classic/modern furnishings and decor. We loved everything about this rental and we will not hesitate to stay with Lavinia and Max the next time we are in Rome. They made the whole experience that much more enjoyable.

My family just returned from our one week vacation in Rome.

We stayed in the Vaticano suite and could not have been happier!

The location is very convenient, just a short walk from the Vatican, Castel Sant'Angelo, Piazza Navona, the Pantheon and Trastevere and even within waling distance of the Victor Emmanuel Monument, the Colosseum, and the Spanish steps.

In a week, we took the bus only twice and that was more for the experience then for the need.

The apartment is in a great neighborhood and is very safe.

The windows have been upgraded and keep the noise of outside traffic to barely audible.

The bed in the master is very comfortable and the sofa bed in the living area is the most comfortable sofa bed I have ever experienced.

Upon arrival we were met my the owner, who made us feel at home. The kitchen was stocked with bread, jelly, milk, butter, juices, Nutella, expresso, and cheese; enough to get started. There is a small supermarket around the corner to buy what you need.

I would highly recommend that you select this apartment for your stay in Rome

We were really looking forward to our six day break in Rome and we were certainly NOT disappointed. Lavinia greeted us at the apartment with a traditional Roman welcome and proceeded to give us the low-down on all matters relating to the accommodations and our environs. We began to feel at home immediately. The apartment was all we were expecting it to be - clean, modern and warm, with comfy beds. The cupboard was well-stocked for breakfasts and the fluffy white towels in the shower-room were sumptuous. With the new windows and blinds closed, the bustling city could be a million miles away. The local buses stopped just around the corner and the Metro was only a short distance away. Along Via dei Banchi Vecchi is the old flower market square of Piazza Campo di Fiori, with daily fresh veggies, meats and cheeses as well as a great selection of street cafes for morning or evening replenishment. The Vatican is a ten minute walk away, crossing the Tiber via the elegant footbridge in front of Castel Sant'Angelo. Ancient Roma is waiting for you to the east, after wandering through the narrow city streets or hopping onto the frequent bus service into the centre. Max popped by a couple of times and quickly resolved any queries we had, whilst always being available to answer any questions. Lavinia saw us off the premises at our departure with a warm promise to see us again if we should be in Rome or, indeed if she and Max might venture to the west-country of England. Highly recommended.
