“An excellent family holiday apartment”
Reviewed 14 April 2014

The location of the apartment is wonderful - so close to the Vatican, Piazza Navona and Colosseum and wonderful dining in and around the Campo dei Fiori. We had a lovely 9 days as a family of 5 in the Colosseo apartment. Max and Lavinia made the booking process very easy and organised a late night pick up from the airport and a thorough introduction to the apartment and the area, including nearby markets, food stores and restaurants. The apartment is lovely and clean and modern, and recommendations were swiftly provided for our gluten free restaurants for our daughter. Max and Lavinia kept in touch during our stay via email and changed the towels. There is a great small bus service all around the historic centre which picks up outside the apartment. The Borghese park is lovely for children. There is a lovely bakery opposite and great markets around. A wonderful stay. Many thanks

Our family of 4 could not have been happier and more at home than at Max and Lavinia's beautiful apartment! We have two boys, 14 and 10, and there was plenty of space for all of us. The location is unbelievable...literally you would not want to be anywhere else. We thought because Rome is a big city that we would have to take a lot of public transportation, but we didn't need to. We walked everywhere. The Vatican, Piazza Navona and Campo di Fiori are less than a 10 minute walk, Trevi Fountain, Pantheon, Jewish Ghetto, castel sant Angelo and Trestavare neighborhood are 15 minutes. Colosseum, spanish steps, villa borghese are less than a half hour. We cabbed it to Termini station for our day in Pompeii and to the airport, and bussed it to the Olympic stadium for a Roma soccer game, but that's it. Walking helped burn off all the calories from all the awesome food. You can go to any trattoria around the apartment and be blown away. Many, many restaurants, bakeries and gelato places all nearby. The apartment itself is darling. Max met us there upon arrival and explained everything to us and then took us for a tour around the neighborhood! It was so nice to have him as a tour guide to help us get our bearings and point out all the stores and restaurants not to be missed during our trip. The bedrooms are plenty big. The beds are super comfortable. The kids' bedroom had two twins and ours had a queen. Lots of light and windows too! Everything was renovated inside. The bathroom was big enough for all of us as well. Of course, the kitchen was tiny, but Lavinia supplied great coffee, croissants, juice and fruit for us upon arrival. The washing machine came in handy and there is a huge drying rack for clothes. It's on the little terrace outside. The apartment was quiet for the most part, but you could ossassionally hear the other people in the building. Not a big deal at all, and it was rather charming. Since we were there a whole week, Lavinia came and cleaned the apartment mid-week which was a nice, unexpected treat! We were concerned that being in Rome for a week would be too long, but there's so much to see and do, you can never get bored, and having a home base was perfect. We didn't do a lot of tours but did a walking food/wine tour in Trestavare which was fantastic and a Dark Tours of Rome ghosts and legends tour that the kids really liked. You can't go wrong with this apartment. Max and Lavinia are attentive, speak excellent English and were very responsive to our emailes and phone calls prior to the trip. I would definitely recommend this place!!!

We stayed for two nights in late March. The apratment is conveniently located. It's close to neat shops, bus lines, grocery stores and easy to walk to a lot of great sitse from Campo De Fiori to the Pantheon. The owners were very helpful and have put together a really good book showing you how to get to all the sites and with restaurant recommendations. The aprtment is clean, safe, and every thing worked great. the beds were comfortable too! A definite recommendation.

It's an ideal location, in a relatively quite neighborhood near most attractions. Max & Lavinia are friendly hosts who wish to see you enjoy your Roma holiday. The suite has a tourist library, a binder of maps for important cathedrals/monuments and Max provided a map. We also went to the Parco Appian Antica and acquedotti and the owners helped us get there. We stayed for 5 nights in the 2 bedroom suite. Comfortable.

I stayed here 3 nights with parents, everything was beyond expectation. I prefer this place to a 4 star hotel. Max has the best knowledge of Roma, and he even arranged the taxi for us. I forgot to print the flight boarding card and he did that in his office immediately I asked for help. His wife has arranged the apartment beautifully. Also you can find all equipment you need and it just felt like home! And the price is not high at all for this standard.

We stayed 4 nights in Al Centro Storico. The apartment was just like the pictures, very clean and very modern, even has a washing machine, but no dryer, though a drying rack is provided. Lavina was very pleasant and helpful, showed us maps and gave us directions for everywhere we wanted to go. She suggested some helpful apps for our phone that came in handy. The apt. is in a very interesting part of the city, which you might not get to explore if you are not staying there. I would highly recommend this apartment and would stay there again .Our only problem was that they wanted to be paid in cash, but they had not informed us of this prior to our arrival. They said it was something to do with their system being down. We had to notify our bank that we would be taking out larger sums than we had expected. This was a bit off putting and would have liked to have known the arrangement ahead of time.
