“Good location for exploring Rome”
Reviewed 1 July 2014

We booked a trip to Rome for 4 nights at hotel Regina Giovanni.
I was very sceptic about the room, because of the pictures I saw online. But I have to say, it wasn't that awfull at all.

The hotel is easy to find and is located on a busy street. You can walk it within 10 minutes from Rome Termini. It has the perfect location. Not too close to the station and not too close to the touristic center.

During check-in we met the moody receptionist. But he did give us some quick info about Rome and how to walk to several sights and provide us with a handy map.

The room wasn't that bad at all. The AC worked, very clean, nice bathroom (even a blowdryer and shampoo/soap), TV (which was nice during the world cup) and excellent wifi.
The bed was quite hard and you have flat pillows, but I didn't mind. After a long day of walking you will sleep anyway ;). The room also had a mini fridge! Very handy. Fits about 6 small bottles en 2 large bottles of water.

The room is very clean. Cleaning happened every day. Also the towels will be replaced with fresh ones.

There's no breakfast, but there's a supermarket very nearby the hotel. They've fresh bread and cheeses/salami.

If you're a traveller who doesn't spend that much time in your room, but more outside enjoying the city.. This would be perfect considering the price/quality.

Good price. But.... A/C did not work, phone didn't work, internet didn't work, no tv, no outlets working, no light in hallway, door looked like it had been kicked in and the staff could care less!! The only good thing I have to say is the room was big and clean, close to Termini and great Irish pub, Flann O'Brien's, across the street!

The hotel is a decently short walk from Termini, though relatively hard to find. There is a small sign out front, but not obvious compared to other hotels in the area.

Room was small, but adequate. Not exceptionally clean. Window looked into what seemed to be a maintenance shaft.

Staff were friendly and helpful. No breakfast.

We stayed at the hotel for 3 nights. The location is perfect: Roma Termini railway - 10 minutes walk, Colosseum: 20 minutes walk, Metro station Republica - 5 minutes walk. The rooms mostly come out to Via Nazionale, but there are no any noise, because all the room have double windows. Staff is very friendly, english speaking. If you want to stay in Rome nearby most important points of view - select Hotel Regina Giovanna!

The hotel gives more than what we can get otherwise for the same price at other hotel/hostel in other European cities.

Room is spacious with cooking facility. Bathroom is astonishingly decent for such a price we paid. Wifi was free too.

Location wise it is very strategically located for tourist. Metro station is nearby and it is surrounded by several important sights e.g. the war memorial and the Coliseum.

Won't mind to recommend this hotel to a friend or visit it again for the second time

This hotel looked too good to be true on the website & it really was. Air con broken, phone not working, room smelly, disinterested staff...... but very cheap. So if it's all about saving money, then this is the place for you. Location is great.

Room Tip: Ask to stay in the main building.

This hotel is close to everything - the Forum, the Colliseum, the War Memorial, the Trevi Fountain and the Spanish Steps. Hotel was very clean. The only complaints we had was our room door was right beside the next rooms door so when they were coming and going it sounded like they were trying to get into our room. Also the cleaner was quite rude if she couldnt clean the room (was during a siesta one day and she forced us to leave until it was cleaned). Other than that the hotel was fab.
