We were eagerly anticipating our lunch at Marzapane, and reserved months in advance to ensure we could get a table. The service was flawless, and the waiter went out of his way to ensure we were well taken care of, had good wine recommendations, and even gave us recommendations for places to eat in Sicily, which was our next stop. There were some dishes which absolutely blew our minds: the pasta with anchovies and lemons was flawless. The seafood carpaccio with fresh raspberries and blackberries inspired. There were also a couple of duds: A gorgeous stuffed squid dish was artfully plated, but tasted very bland. The chicken and pineapple curry was also unmemorable. While we enjoyed our experience overall, I wish the food had been the most memorable part.
