Lovely hotel with lots of privacy in a fantastic location - 15 minutes from the Colosseum and 8 minutes from the spanish steps - walking. Rooms were of a high standard and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Would recommend and stay there again

A nice hotel, quite well located but a little tired, could do with a bit of paint here and there. A/C was just bearable but that's all I have to moan about. Breakfast was great as was the service. Friendly and helpful staff. Would visit again.

I stayed at the Rome Times Hotel with my boyfriend while on a city break to Rome from 3rd-7th May 2014.

The hotel was within a 10-15 minute walk from Termini (we used one of the bus services from the airport which also stop here) and the hotel was relatively easy to locate.

On checking in within the main area of the hotel, a porter then showed us to our room which was back outside and up to a second external door. Our room was located on the second floor and overlooked Milano Street which I feel was a good location and not too noisy at night.

On first impressions, the room was relatively modern and tastefully decorated, and large enough for a couple to comfortably move around with suitcases etc. The bed was comfortable and there was a large tv (but not the best selection of English speaking channels) and full length mirror on the wall. There was also a mini bar fridge which we used for our own items. The air conditioning didn't appear to be working when we arrived but was fixed during our stay. The main problem with this room was the lighting. The entrance corridor of the room had a light which came on when you first inserted your room key into the power slot but went off again after around 30 seconds, not ideal when the wardrobe and safe where in this area and no natural light flowed through either. We ended up having to use the torch on our phones when using the safe. The reading light on the right side of the bed also didn't work.

The bathroom was also nice and spacious, however the shower drain was missing a cover and the seal was also missing from the bottom of the door. The hotel supplied a shower mat (i'm unsure if this was supposed to cover the drain) but when we used this on the first night, combined with the faulty shower seal, resulted in a substantial leak from the shower into the bedroom. We resorted to removing the mat completely and swapping the seal from the top of the door to the bottom. On our final morning however, water was pouring through the bathroom ceiling from the room above, so this may be a fault with some of the rooms. We informed reception of this leak during check-out. Our room was cleaned everyday, new towels were supplied and we were never disturbed until we had left our room.

Our main concern during our stay at the Rome Times Hotel was that an item of clothing appeared to go missing from a suitcase. You do not expect that in a 4-star hotel, you would need to lock your clothes away when you go out. We highlighted this to hotel management when we returned home but were advised that nothing had happened of this nature previously and were not offered any compensation. When we checked out we also had an item from the mini bar added to our bill in error.

Generally this is a nice hotel in a great location but due to the factors above, we feel it was slightly overpriced and feels as though it is still going through slight renovation work due to some of the flaws in the room (crack in the wall and ill fitted sockets & switches), and be aware of prying eyes in your room when you are out.

Room Tip: Rooms overlooking Milano Street are quieter.

I had 1 night in Rome and decided to stay at this hotel. Arrived after 7pm and was checked in without any delays. The layout of how to get to the elevators and breakfast area is a little weird like going through an underground tunnel, but once on the floor of your room it is all fine. The room I stayed in was great. It was modern, clean updated and this room had a decent amount of space. This particular room had an amazing round shaped bath/jacuzzi but with such a short stay did not get to try it out. I liked the decor and the clean treated cement floor in the room. The breakfast was okay as expected in many local hotels. The staff was helpful and willing to answer questions I had. The only good or bad thing is the area itself i found was in a quiet part of the city not much nightlife or many places to dine out at.

Had I been there a few more nights I am sure I would have found this property more enjoyable and probably had time to explore the area better, but I was out and gone early in the morning. I will certainly go back given the opportunity to return to Rome again.

A charming hotel! tastefully furnished rooms. Everything is new and shiny.
The room is spacious and pleasant the bed and mattress as well. The water in the shower was hot and the water flow was excellent .
A large TV. There was a little problem of watching TV but it has been fixed. The reading lamp didn't work on one side of the bed. In the first two nights was no air conditioners in the rooms only vents. The air conditioning worked in the lobby, gym and restaurant. In general the hotel is excellent and and the staff was great!
An excellent breakfast, Beautiful hotel
The hotel is on the corner of streets, so there is almost no noise. Our room was on the 3rd floor and face the street but never heard noise during the night.
from the hotel It is about 15-20 minutes walk from the Spanish steps.

Room Tip: I think we should avoid the first floor facing the street. On the other hand, there are glass insu...

Nice hotel & we would stay here again, buffet breakfast good & staff very friendly & helpful, the bar prices are expensive but we did not buy anything, there is some traffic noise but the hotel is just off a main shopping street (Via Nazionale). Hotel is very central for the main monuments, a twenty minute walk to most of them but a bus or subway journey to The Vatican which is a bit further away.

Our room in April 2014 was over 225 Euros! It was a struggle for the first 2 nights to get a hot shower. We could only get tepid to lukewarm water. The reading lights didn't work. The bathroom light and fan cord didn't go on. We felt this level of amenities in the room, albeit spotlessly clean with an excellent bed, was a mismatch to the room rate. After 4 visits to the front desk to get service for the lights, we asked for the manager. He gave us an change of room - an upgraded room- for the inconvenience we had suffered and he chose a room for us that had no hot water issues. The other thing that was disconcerting about the hotel was that we were in the annex. We felt rather second class guests over there. In the main building guests enjoyed a beautiful buffet breakfast. For the price of the room we did not receive a breakfast. Granted we knew we were not going to get breakfast with our room but altogether the whole stay was very poor value and we felt extremely disappointed with forking out so much for a good hotel in the centre of Rome. Note that 10 days later, we stayed at a different hotel (L'albergo Al Porticciolo outside the centre of Rome) which was absolutely wonderful in its appointments and hospitality and included the best buffet breakfast we've experienced in Europe. Cost there: 89 Euros! (We have travelled a good deal...) Consider carefully before choosing this overly expensive for what you get hotel.
