We stayed in this wonderful bed and breakfast for 3 nights. Service was exceptional, they were very helpful and informative with directions, sight seeing and places to eat. The room was modern, spacious and very clean. Breakfast was great, cappuccino was amazing! The location is within walking distance to the Vatican and St Peters, and to the other main tourist attractions if you like walking, if not there is a bus stop across the street from the hotel. I would highly recommend Star of Rome, we had a fantastic stay. Thank you Star of Rome :)

My friend and I booked star of Rome online after reviewing all the positive comments previous customers posted. And all those have been said are true.
The room is spotless, the breakfast buffet is also delicious. And yes, the location is great too. Although not located in the downtown center, it's very easy and quick to access all the scene sights within 30 minutes or so with direct lines.
Among all these, what really made the experience amazing was the high quality service the stuff there provided. They are all very friendly and knowledgeable, they were very happy and actually very helpful with whatever questions we had regarding our visiting plans.
The also provided pick-up and drop-off services from and to the airport, which the connection was seamless and super convenience.
Rome is a great city and I would love to visit again later, and would love to choose Star of Rome again to stay with.

The team at Star of Rome could not have been more helpful in making our stay fantastic. Rooms were spacious and immaculate. Wonderful cappucino at breakfast, btw ! Transportation was easy in and out of the city center (which is not obvious from the maps but honestly the location was fine.)

Cannot wait to return to Rome (which we are planning soon, I hope...) and we'll definitely stay there again.

Bravo !

We stayed here for four nights in March.
Our room was exceptionally clean, was stylish and modern. We appreciated the tea and coffee making facilities, unusual for a continental hotel. Our hosts were very friendly and welcoming. They helped us with ideas for our days out and would organise bus trips etc if we had wanted. Nothing was too much trouble.
The breakfast was good with plenty of choice.
The B&B is close to bus stops and is only a short ride to the Vatican and other sites. There are some good restaurants in the vicinity, but bear in mind that most are closed on Mondays.( There is a Macdonalds if you are desperate!)
We would definitely stay here again but next time ask for a room that is not on the front as it was a bit noisy. The road it overlooks is extremely busy with traffic.
Great value and an excellent B&B!

!

Room Tip: Maybe ask for a room at the back that isn't bothered by traffic noise.

My husband and I stayed at The Star of Rome hotel for two nights. This small hotel has everything you need with an exceptional service and it's not too far from the Vatican (25 min walk). Other attractions such as the Trevi fountain, Spanish steps and coliseum take an additional 30-45min but we enjoyed the walk. The hotel staff are extremely helpful and will tell you any info you require. On two occasions we were even walked out of the hotel and shown where to buy tickets and board buses. We were also given a map which we found very beneficial.

Getting to the hotel
There are a few different ways to get to The Star of Rome from the main train station but we did it this way... From the Termini Train Station we took the subway line A to Valle Aurelia station. Follow the line heading towards Battistini. You can purchase a 100minute ticket for €1.50 which allows one Metro journey and unlimited bus journeys. Upon first validation, an expiry time will be printed on your ticket. You can use up to this time but must validate on every service (validate bus journeys using a small machine on the bus). When you arrive at Valle Aurelia and exit the station you need to take a right (almost back on yourself) and then climb a set of stairs on your left. You will see a main road and a bus stop immediately after getting to the top of the stairs. We took the 247 bus but think most follow this road up past the hotel. Our bus took about 10 mins but it was rush hour and there were roadworks so probably would be nearer 5. It is not clear when to get off the bus so my advice is to look out for a McDonald's on your left. You get off about 150m after this so just press the bell when you see it and then walk back towards McDonalds. The Hotel will be on your left as you walk back.

Hotel
Our room was modern spacious and very clean. Breakfast was included and had everything you need.

I would definitely recommend this hotel, excellent value for money.

It's a bit unusual looking from the outside, but once you get inside, it becomes immediately apparent as to what these other reviewers are talking about. The owners are definitely hands on, leaving nothing to chance or to employees. They ARE the Star(s) of Rome. They made arrangements to have us picked up at the airport - seamlessly. The driver called them as he was getting close, so Damiano met us as we pulled up, and escorted us up to the reception and our room, personally helping to carry the bags. Breakfasts were good and satisfying. Tour recommendations were offered and arrangements made. When the tour company was running late to pick us up, one of the B&B owners called them, and then came outside and stood with us for over 20 minutes until the tour company finally showed up. An immaculate, friendly value.

We stayed at three hotels as we traveled through Italy (Rome, Florence & Venice) and this was the best one. Rooms were clean and modern with all the amenities you need. The boys that run this place go out of there way to find information and tours to make your vacation perfect. Every day we were there they had a great selection for breakfast, and made us cappuccinos every morning down in our room. Id recommend this place to all my family and friends, and stay there again if im ever back in Rome.

Room Tip: No pool or fitness center.
