First let me start by saying I am Sri Lankan. On a recent visit to Rome, my family and I had enjoyed the various types of Italian cooking we had tried, but were finally ready for some spicey food. We came upon Seven Lanka and decided to give it a try. This is a small takeout restauarant that does have a small are to dine in if needed and is family run. The food choices change daily and all the offerings are laid out at the serving counter. For just 6 Euros a plate we each received an absolute mountain of food- rice or buriyani and as many curries as we wanted. We could barely move after we ate our plate. The quantity was overly generous and the quality outstanding. The food is spicey but that is what Sri Lakan food is supposed to be. The next day we went back to get some chicken chinese rolls to eat on the plane to Paris. Again, we were not disappointed. Each roll set us back just 1.50 Euro! Some of the best value for food we encountered during our stay in Italy and the food was authentically Sri Lankan!
