My friend and I did this tour as we had limited time and knowledge of the Vatican. It took a long time to get an English speaking tour underway although the woman who we talked to on the street was lovely and informative. The tour leader had a lot if knowledge but we just moved at such a slow pace. There were at lot if people around but even still it was slow. We ended to having to leave the group as we were running out of time but we were assured our stickers meant we could still skip the line for the Sistine Chapel and St Peter's Basilica. Turns out though when we got to St Peter's that no we couldn't and another guise to is to just sneak into the line instead..not very professional we thought. This was so frustrating to me as we didn't even get close to going inside as we had been told the wrong thing about the stickers. I'm sure if you have the 3 or so hours to spare this tour would be great. We just didn't get the best experience out if it.

We were at Vatican on the 29th July 14, and took the guided tour by Maya Tour. Ms. Alessandra Andrea took us around and gave excellent explanation of each and everything. Her knowledge on the museum and basilica is awesome . We recommend this tour to all who are visiting Vatican .

Excellent tour of Vatican City, the tour guide Deborah was very friendly, funny and also very interesting. The whole tour i was just listening to everything she said, i was lost in the tour. It was really informative i couldn't recommend the tour more especially with Deborah as the tour guide!!
the tour took you through the acorn square, the vatican museum and the sistine Chapel. You are not aloud to talk inside the chapel however Deborah explained all the frescos that Michelangelo did and what they represented. She is very easy to listen too.
Great Great Great!!!, Well worth the visit. Vatican City tour was my favourite part of my trip.
"Follow Deborah!" :D

Very interesting tour, i went with a friend and we both really enjoyed it- i have been to Rome before and had done a similar tour with another company, But the tour with Maya-guide Roberto was so much better. Would have liked to spend more time looking at the Sculptures and learn more about them- will maybe do a private tour next time and the night tour. You can never see the Sistine Chapel enough- It is Just amazing! Thanks for a great day!

As we stayed behind the Vatican for our trip, we had to pass through St Peters square each morning to get into the rest of the city. We would be approached by various tour reps.
On the very first morning we passed through, we met Paul, who was working for Maya. He explained the tours, the prices etc, and was very pleasant, not pushy or forceful like some of the reps we met in our trip. We told him we weren't visiting the Vatican that day, but if he would be around on the Thurs we would be happy to book with him. On the Thursday, we found him, he remembered us and was happy we'd kept our word. Paul took us to our guide, cant remember exactly but think his name was Severo? We were with other English speakers, our guide was very knowledgeable and funny, and made the tour much more valuable than if we had been unleashed on the museum ourselves to figure it all out.

Yes, the tours seem expensive. But looking at the queues, which were easily a mile long by the time we got there at around 10.30, being able to skip those lines and not have to wait for hours in the heat was more than worth the money. And again, we were told background information on the vatican & exhibits within the museum, the sistine chapel & the basilica which we wouldn't have learned from the pages of a guide book.

Prior to the trip, I was adamant we werent going to pay the prices for tours but in hindsight, having a guide for the Vatican was the best thing we could have done.
