Our guide Sergio, a man who seemed to know everything there is to know about the Vatican history and the artists that it involves, spoke good English and was very clear and fast. We went passed the very loooong line and didn't have to wait more then 20 minutes to get in. We paid 45 euros and got 2+ hours inside the museum and the chapel. Money well spent!

Today we visited the vatican with this tour. It was said that the tour will start 9:15. Around 30 min later we went to the museum with 50 (!!!) other people. The guide (Marco) was spending another 15 min to explain that we shall follow all the time his "flag" a newspaper. Than he started explaining the basics: follow him, do not take photos in the chapel,... After 1 hour we were finally inside with this "hop the line" service. Our friends waited in the official line and arrived at the same time AND paid 25 EUR less. I really can not recommend this service!

Not only we skipped the long lines, but our guide Alessandra was very nice and explained us a lot about the things in the museum. She had a very good knowledge about the exhibits and made the entire visit very educational and entertaining.

We were approached by a rep from tour company outside vatican. There was a long queue and we were told that if we paid 40 euros each we would not only get a guided tour but bypass the long queue. We agreed to this. But werent told we would have to walk ten minutes to the companies office in order to purchase the tickets. Felt like this was a waste of time.

Our tour guide was a German lady. Very pleasant and professional. Perhaps a little slow. We stood around initially waiting for others to join our group; again time wasted. In total there were around 20 of us in group.
Tour guide provided alot of useful information but tour was rushed. Maybe because we were the last tour of the day.
in my opinion the tour was really expensive and not good value for money. That said the tour guide was lovely and atleast we got to skip the horrenous queue.
Your best bet is to research vatican yourself online, turn up at 8 am and avoid the queues. No real need to go on a guided tour.
Also they dont warn you that this tour is unsuitable if you have a baby buggy as so many stairs to navigate. Better off carrying baby in a baby Bjorn.

Having viewed other recommendations to make sure you get Deborah I have to add...yes she could be amusing but is also SHOCKINGLY rude! I got a proper telling off because I mislaid my ticket whilst looking for my glasses.
She made a group of people relaxing, in the tiny area of shade, move, with very little attempt at courtesey...I work here you know so move! She constantly ushered people out of her way, telling them off for blocking the passage, then installing her own group there.
There was a constant muttering of " *******unbelievable!" from the ushered groups...too shocked to remonstrate.
When we returned, my partners work colleague had had exactly the same experience of the same guide.
