“Don't do Rome without a guide”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 11 October 2013

Our group of 4 were originally planning on tackling some major Rome attractions by ourselves, but are so glad we came across City Lights Rome Tours. Rafaella (sp?), our personal guide, grew up in Rome and studied history. She led a small group of about 10 of us right through the front gate of the Flavius Amphitheater (Coliseum) so that we completely bypassed a couple-hour-long line. Absolutely worth the price from that alone! She was extremely knowledgeable and spoke very good English and wove interesting facts into her explanations of the Coliseum, the Roman Forum and the Palantine Hill (which you really only get a view of). We were lucky to bump into this tour group before we made the mistake of going it alone. We will definitely use them again for other tours when we made a return trip to Italy!

We were planning on a privet tour through hotel for 3 hours at Euro180 for both of us for 3 hours.
we were strolling when a friendly Irishman approached us and offered a tour for 70 Euros. Oh dear I thought but what the hell am sure will laugh about this........Wrong. Fantastic small tour group. No entrance charges. Excellent guide who enthusiastically took us through the Forum and Colosseum and the a full 3 hours.
Fantastic value and no need to pay over the top....I recommend use them. Our guide Tiberio and he was very enthusiastic and knowledgeable
CANNOT RECOMENDY HIGHLY ENOUGH FOR VALUE AND CONTENT

“So worthwhile”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 18 September 2013 via mobile

My wife and I had set off to do a self-guided tour of the Forum and Collesium but had got a bit tired of looking at bits of old buildings. Then we met Sean who talked us into a guided tour of the same area. That completely changed our day! What Tiberio, our guide, doesn't know about ancient Rome probably isn't worth kmowing. We had an excellent day and learned things that would have completely passed us by had it not been for him. He put everything into its proper context and answered ALL our questions - not just the 'what' but the 'why' too. Amazing!! Highly recommended for this tour.

“Don't miss out! Tiberio is an expert guide: interesting, clear and humorous!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 18 September 2013 via mobile

We took a 3-hour tour through the Roman forum and to the colloseum. Tiberio, our guide, started with interesting background information on Rome and the surroundings, and we started the tour itself. The price is affordable and fair - 35 eur per person, which includes all the entrance fees to the Roman forum and to the colloseum.
The guide knows lots of information, passes it along interestingly and is also happy to answer any other question you might have.
Highly recommended.

“Tiberious was great!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 7 September 2013

We took a chance when approached by a tour guide outside the Colosseum. I am so glad we did. Tiberious (ph) was an awesome guide: knowledgeable, dramatic, a great story teller. He even recommended that we eat Carbonara anywhere near the Pantheon area, which I did and am now hooked on the dish. I enjoyed this tour so much that I would do it again upon a return visit!
