“Immaculate little hotel in a perfect location!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 15 May 2014

Like other reviewers, I can say that the location of the Manfredi is central to the sights and restaurants yet is on a tiny street with art vendors rather than traffic. Our room was immaculate, fresh and with a lovely traditional decor. The staff was very helpful, welcoming us with a cappuccino on our early arrival from a tiring trans-atlantic flight. Each day, the breakfast had too many choices, including fresh fruit and warm pastries. While there are less expensive places, I would definitely stay there again and recommend it to others because of the location, quality and comfort.
While we loved almost everything about our stay, I would suggest that you avoid the room nearest the desk (I think #101). It shares a wall with the office and was noisy with overheard conversations and phone ringing, even during the night.

5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 12 May 2014 via mobile

My wife and I stayed for 5 nights at the begining of May.
Lovely room. We chose the superior double rather than deluxe because of the bath. It looked like the room and bathroom had been refurbished because jacuzzi/spa bath hadnt been on facilities. Gorgeous bathroom and the spa bath made it special.
Room a nice size, quality fittings, with large bed.
It was room 205 overlooking courtyard. A little dark, but nice and quiet. Room service excellent, with everything changed daily.
Breakfast a delight, well laid out with all fresh produce in a bright and cosy breakfast room.
Finally the location, probably the nicest back street in Rome in an old theatre building.
Apparently Roman holiday used this street so if its good enough for Audrey Hepburn its good enough for me !
We walked everywhere.
We loved our stay here and have no hesitation to recommend.
Alright its not budget, but you are perfectly placed in a quality hotel in centre of Rome and you can get discounts
We will definitely return and thanks to all the staff.

Dear guest.
First of all thank you to have been our nice guest and we really appreciate your post that make us very happy. The Hotel Manfredi is very well situated, just one block away from the Spanish Steps and near to the most important tourist sites like Colosseo, Vaticano, Galleria Borghese, Piazza del Popolo, Fontana di Trevi and much more. Via Margutta is really famous street around the word to have been the residence of Fellini and Guttuso and is full of art galleries and good restaurant. We are in the real city center but without noise. We pay attention about the details, for this reason you found a clean room. All the staff is always at your disposal to give to you all you need to live Rome in a good way and we always try to do our best every day to give you an unforgettable stay. The breakfast is homemade every day from our pastry chef. We hope that you can come back as soon as you can.
Best Regards

We stayed at this hotel for 4 nights. There were three of us with my husband, college age son and myself. We were a bit surprised at how small the room was as we booked at having 3 persons in the room. The sheets on the beds were of poor quality and very rough. The shower was VERY small and the hand held shower head very hard to manage which then ended up soaking the bathroom floor. We found the staff to be less than friendly. We had to ask for service when we wanted a glass of wine at the bar. At breakfast we felt as if we were bothering the very busy,(only one) attendant to get a a third chair for our small table to accommodate the 3 of us. All in all we would not stay here again. This was the fourth hotel of our trip (we were very happy with the others) and the most expensive. Not what we expected. On a positive note the location is great.

Dear Guest.
We are sorry if you have not been good at the Manfredi Hotel. However we need to answer you about your the negative points you've noticed. First of all the size of the room are write on our web site and to all the reservation web site, (for the next time pay attention about the details), the mattress, the pillow, the sheets are made in Italy 100% with high-quality materials. All the staff is always at your disposal to give to you all you need to live Rome and the Hotel Manfredi in a good way. Luckily the 99% of the guest that came at the Hotel Manfredi are happy and glad about the all the staff. At the breakfast time we are sorry about that, but trust me nobody are unhappy about the service and the food. Nothing is too much weight for us, because the assistance to the guest is our strong point as the majority of guest have seen and written. The bar is open until 00.00 and if you need something during the afternoon you have to ask to the concierge or to the bar tender what do you like.

We spent 3 nights at the hotel booked through Bookings.com and discounted quite substantially. When we arrived we were told that the superior room wasn't available for the first night and that they would put us in a standard room but we would be upgraded to Deluxe for the remainder of our stay and that, as recompense we could have a few drinks at the bar. A bit inconvenient but not the end of the world. The standard room is tiny, my husband said after 5 minutes in the room we had covered every inch!!! Certainly the proverbial cat would have got concussion, having said that it had everything you required except spare space, the en suite shower room was very cramped. The deluxe room was very plushly decorated and a little more space (clearly at a premium in a city centre) and the bathroom was more spacious. Both rooms were immaculate, clean and it felt as if you were the first to use them. The pillows were however very uncomfortable, very hard and unyielding. A word of warning the 5 star rating is a little over the top and the entrance sign has it as a 3 star boutique hotel, I would probably rate it as a good 4 star. The staff were very friendly and helpful, breakfast is buffet style with warming dishes of scrambled eggs, bacon and sausages, bread, pastries, rolls, cereals.
I would stay here again happily but only at the discounted rate...approx. 300 Euros per night. It wasn't worth more than that.

Tucked away on a quiet street just a few steps outside of all the bustle of the Spanish Steps, it's a great location with lots of activity and convenient to other popular locations in Rome. Our room was decorated in a lovely ornate style, it was comfortable, though of course small by American standards, but this is to be expected in Rome. My priority in finding a hotel, minus the location, were comfortable beds. I know this sounds like simple requirement to base one's stay, but it makes all the difference. This is an expectation that Mandredi met. Along with comfort and location, I very much enjoyed the complimentary breakfast, it was a nice addition to each morning. The waitstaff were friendly and one in particular introduced me to a variety of Italian style coffee drinks for me to try every morning, it was a highlight of my stay! I definitely recommend this hotel.

What a lovely little boutique hotel, super helpful staff, friendly, excellent. And what a great location, my wife and I walked everywhere saw just about everything. We asked the reception to recommend restaurants and they never disappointed.
We never usually go back to the same place twice, but in this instance we would and we'd definitely recommend it, it was clean and although the room wasn't large, it was more than adequate. I found the pillows to hard, I asked for softer ones and they changed them immediately.
Finally, as it used to be a theatre and the rooms were used for the actors to change in (so we were told) the corridors are small with many turns, it makes the place seem magical! Plus the old fashioned lift to the reception on the third floor, that just added to the magic.
