“great place to stay”
Reviewed 7 July 2014

took a while to find ! but great location.......great coffee with breakfast ,the small selection for breakfast was good only one bad bread day but i think that was because it was sunday and no fresh local bread & limited meat/cheese that day ...... service was great ...spotless rooms, fab decor....coffee and tea in the room a fridge to keep things cool....great building, just remember to duck when coming in via the small entrance door when the large ones are closed, i'm over 6 foot and have a few bumps on my head by the end of my stay! ;-)...staff where very helpful ....some great bars and restaurants just over the river....bus stop almost outside the hotel, get your ticket from the small shops before you get on.....you can walk to most areas of the city just take nice footwear as you are in cobble streets most of the time .... very few negatives... the air con never seemed to work and that was a shame....morning noise from the school across the road, i would suggest secondary glazing to keep most of it out , amazing how loud school girls can be!....bathroom layout could be better we had the room by reception so no breakfast getting ready noise....would stay again but if it was hot would defo need the air con working

Room Tip: get a room by reception less noise early morning due to breakfast staff setting up

Hotel location is off the beaten path but the directions given by the hotel staff were clear. We had got the 4 euro Ryanair bus to Termini station and then purchased a three day public transport travel card from a newsagent in termini station. Outside the train station there is a bus station and we got on the number 40 in the direction "borgo sant'angelo" , about 5 stops and get off at "chiesa nuova". Cross the road and go down an alley way which will take you to a piazza. Go straight across the piazza towards a large blue sign covering an archelogy site. Take a left and the hotel is located a couple of doors down on the left hand side. The door is huge and green and there is a brass plaque with Il Vittoriano at the top.

The hotel is 6 apartments located on the first floor of the building. It can be accessed by stairs or lift. The hotel is manned from 07:00 until 19:00 ish. You are given three keys to enter the building outside of these times .The staff are warm friendly and accomodating. They can help with reservations and have a large free map available for you If you need it.

The room is bright and modern. It is well equiped. It has a stocked fridge... which you can get your own bottle of proseco in . Tea and coffee making facilities are provided . It has a cupboard with hangers and a rack to hang pants . A complimentary pair of slippers is on each bed and there is body shampoo, soap and cotton buds provided. You may want to bring your own. The bathroom has a shower unit which is easy to use ... pull out the handle at 19:00 angle for pleasantly warm water from an overhead shower head. There is a bathroom mirror and a shaving mirror. Towels are a good size and there are three different sized ones for each person

There are two pillows on each bed . We had single beds - they were comfortable and a size suitable for us - but we are small.

The rooms are cleaned daily to a good standard

Breakfast is from 08:00 - 10:00. It has a range of friuts juices, bread, cereal, yoghurt, cheese and ham . Fresh coffee or tea is available and replenished on request. Breakfast can be made available earlier on request. The breakfast room is located of the appartments and within the hotel

There is a despar supermarket around the corner is the piazza you passed to find the hotel. It is open until 21:00 and sells a range of produce and has a fair selection of wines

At the end of Vi Guilia is a bridge across to Trastevere - a very short walk. For your information there are a range of bars and Trattorias there including the cocktail bar (with appetisor) Freni e Frizioni popular with younger people . Five minute walk to the Vatican area

...The only reason I do not give this hotel five stars is the noise - street is noisy early morning and evening. We were in room 2 - the walls were paper thin and we could here 'everything ' expressed by the young couple in room 1 next door. ... say no more.

Eventhough it is small, this was an excellent stay. The people there were very friendly. The room was excellent. Breakfast was a regular fare for europe, but was more than we could have hoped for. The hotel is in the perfect location for visiting Rome. 10 - 20 minute walk to almost everything you would want to visit. Very close to where they have the hop on hop off busses. This was very convenient. I waould Highlly recomend this hotel to anyone who is looking for a facility that is off the main path but is comfortable, clean and safe. Enjoy!

It's all in the details at the Residence Il Vittoriano. From the person greeting you at the downstairs front door, to the comfort of the room. They only have 6 rooms but they are all very tastefully decorated with quality materials and comfort in mind. Our room was small but very cozy and spotlessly clean. We enjoyed the soothing rain shower :) If you want gluten-free options at breakfast, make sure to let the staff know in advance as it is not something that's automatically provided.

Although the street seems quiet, it gets pretty noisy early in the morning.

A perfect place to stay in the heart of a wonderful city. Immaculate. Lovely fresh clean continental breakfast. Small and friendly but still private and calm. A great spot by the Tiber close to Campo Fiori and Piazza Navona. The only disadvantage is it is quite noisy (road outside) as Via Giulia is a popular cobbled road Lovely helpful staff. Totally delightful.

Room Tip: 6 rooms all brilliant

I stayed here with my son (age 15) during the Feb half term, Initially difficult to find - suggest others download a google walking map to locate the exact location - its about a 10 min walk from Piazza Nervona and five mins from Campo de'Fiori. The entrance to a massive green metal arched door (with a small entrance door on the left hand side) its quite unobtrusive, next to a bookshop. However, that aside the location is brilliant, we have been to Rome three times, and this hotel is by far the best one we have been to. Once we had found the hotel, we never had trouble making our way back there. Every tourist attraction is within walking distance, from the colosseum to the Vatican the rooms are spotlessly clean, new and modern, the ensuite bathroom was immaculate too. My son being a teenager didn't make breakfast, but staff were kind enough to let me take some brioche away for him, and they made a heavenly cappuccino for breakfast. They also arranged the very early taxi for the return to the airport. I have already recommended this hotel to friends and family, and would love to return again very soon. The only suggestion (not a criticism) I would make, is for at least one English TV channel on the TV, as all the TV channels were Italian, and we had to watch things on our individual ipads, which wasn't really sociable.

Room Tip: Any room is good all centred around the dining area and a brilliant base for sightseeing

Don't get confussed! When you arrive to Via Giulia 141 and see just a residence apartment old building you might think this is a wrong place... well it is not!
Located just in the first floor, this 6 rooms boutique hotel is just what you need to enjoy your stay in Rome.

Location: Great location, very close to Piazza Navona and the Vatican.
Staff: Receptionists and cleaners are very kind and helpful.
Breakfast: Good continental breakfast
Rooms: Clean, modern, nice style and very comfortable. You open the door and... you are in the cafeteria.

Overall a great place to stay.

The only "minus" is the fact that the windows do not isolate the room from the outside noise and therefore you will wake up early... ;) But this is what you want to do when being in a city with plenty of places to visit as Rome

Room Tip: We were at room 6 and enjoyed it.
