This is a great little hotel just around the corner from Piazza Navona and a 1 minute walk to a taxi stand. Great location in the heart of Rome. We arranged for their airport pick up which was perfect. It was so nice to have our ride ready and waiting when we stepped off the plane. Very quiet, clean rooms with updated baths. Nice breakfast too. Very helpful and friendly staff. They upgraded us on our last night to the room with the terrace....beautiful!! Don't be put off by the ornate fabric in the rooms, it is a lovely place to stay. I would definitely stay there again. There is no elevator so you have to climb the stairs, but hey...you have to work off all that gelato you are eating somehow!

Room Tip: Ask for the room with the terrace....it was beautiful!

At Residenza Canali, the staff were polite, cheerful, and helpful, and always present at the desk. They didn't complain when we asked for extra services such as canceling or scheduling a taxi, always helped carry our luggage, and helped us book tickets. They gave us a free upgrade to the large terrace room on the fourth floor. Although I got lazy and spoke mostly English to them, they did not begrudge this. Overall, we felt at ease and happy at the Canali.

A few areas for improvement. I had trouble operating the air conditioning, but as the temperature and air were comfortable enough, didn't bother asking for help. Also, I would have liked tables in the lobby area where I could have a cup of coffee and read or write, but the only such space would be at the breakfast room which is only open from 7:30am to 10:30am.

Room Tip: The terrace room on the top floor has a slightly larger shower where one can turn around more easily. It also has about 40% more square footage not counting the terrace which makes walking around in the room much more free-feeling. In terms of added comfort I'd say the terrace room is worth paying 25% more a night.

A great little hotel in one of the best spots in Rome.

We stayed here in 2009 for 4 nights. The location is brilliant and is away from all of the tourist madness that is Rome. Surrounded by wonderful restaurants and a short stroll to Piazza Navona, this definitely the place to stay.

We have since recommended the hotel to several friends and are looking at staying there again this July.

The rooms are spacious, clean and well decked out. They have all of the classic charm would expect in Rome.

The breakfast and staff are also amazing.

Stayed at Residenza Canali for 4 nights. The hotel is in a fantastic location in Rome. It is in a quiet cobled street a stone's throw from Piazza Navona.

The room was small but immaculately clean. Service was very friendly and accommodating. Breakfast was solid.

All round a very enjoyable experience and would be happy to stay here again.

We had a great Rome vacation staying at the Residenza Canali. We stayed in the Junior suite with the balcony. The staff was very nice and helpful. Breakfast was very nice and the capacino excellent. The location was walking distance to the Vatican and the Pantheon. Two blocks from the Piazza Novanna. Excellent nearby restaurants for dinner. Room was nicely furnished and well cared for. We used the Hop on hop off tour buses to get around and the Canali was well located to the stops the tour busses made. The Staff was absulutely wonderful and acommodating.

Room Tip: We enjoyed the top floor Suite.
