“Perfect Easter in Rome”
Reviewed 1 May 2014

We spend five days at the appartment (moon space) of Mrs. Rosa Maria . The space is excellent, but most of all, the hospitallity , her eagerness to help and provide us the most exquisit holidays, her smile and her "new-old friend" attitude, made our staying unforgatable.

We were welcomed by a very nice Rosa Maria who got us a large van that managed to fit all our luggage coupled by a very very happy and nice driver. He was quite good at telling us stories while driving there so the ride wasnt boring. The location is five minutes away from the Vatican City, which is the biggest bonus we got other than the souvenir shops and restaurants within walking distance.

The flights of stairs look like a problem but there is a small elevator to bring you up to the floor though it may take several trips. Their housekeeper was just as nice as the driver and owner. They were always there to give us some tips, answer our questions and especially the best ways on how to spot pickpockets, a danger when going on the buses to take you to the famous icons of Rome. Rosa Maria is very good at helping us book online tickets for places such as the Vatican museum that has a very long queue if you dont reserve online. Yes there is still a line for online reservations and a longer walk to get to that respective entrance but it beats waiting hours on end waiting to buy tickets. The breakfast was simple but filling which mostly consists of bread, spreads, beverage and fruits. You may try to request to the housekeeper of anything that you dont want on it for example you just prefer apples and bananas. They also give a basket of biscuits to take during your itinerary for the day.

This place really made us feel at home. The only bother you can get is if the other guests think you are bothersome. They have three rooms. We got 2 of 3. Although they were small they were adequate, well cleaned, well furnished with most of what you need and comfortable. I wish the safe can be bigger though.

All in all, great place and I would love to return here.

Room Tip: Book fast. Due to its close proximity to the Vatican, I assume their rooms sell out quickly.

We stayed from Good Friday to Easter Monday at Rosa Maria's B&B. It was wonderful in all aspects - from welcoming, touring tips, breakfast, cleanliness and overall hospitality.

So here are all the good things about the place: there is a lift to help you with your luggages. Fridge and safe is available in the room. Welcome drink with a choice of cola, lemon soda, etc. Bountiful breakfast is served at your room at 8am. Yes, it's really abundant: warm croissant, toasted bread, fresh fruits, choice of coffee, marmalades, butter, cheese, yoghurt, biscuits, juice and there was even an extra cake during Easter Sunday!

A very pleasant, friendly and smiling lady, Meldy, works with Maria Rosa. She is very fluent in English and Italian, and of course, Tagalog. She is Filipino, that is why she is also very hospitable and nice to chat with.

Location is very convenient. Just go down the street, cross through the underpass and you are at St Peter's Square in the Vatican - literally just less than 5 minutes of convenient walking distance. Bus 64 (to/from Termini) and other bus lines direct to Piazza Venezia & the Colosseum are also just very close - 1-2 minute walk from the building entrance. Cash machine and cafes just across the street.

Fresh towels and cleaning are both provided everyday. Immaculate and spotless!

I can really say, the best of the B&B's we have stayed at. We will surely stay again and we are excited to plan it. After all, we threw a coin at the Trevi Fountain, so we will be back!

Rosa Maria was a excellent host - she gave us a whole lot of very useful information - which bus to take ( saved us a lot of money ), where to go, what to do, even helped us book Vatican museum tickets online - she helped save us a lot of time and money. Melody made us an excellent breakfast and very good cappuccino. Location was excellent - right across the Vatican City - we saw the pope on Sunday - took bus 64 everywhere - cheap and reliable. Room was clean and neat. Highly recommend to anyone who is going to Rome.

This Bed and Breakfast is ideally situated opposite the Vatican City and Rosa Maria is a wonderful host who makes every effort to give local advice and even provides a mobile phone for you to contact her if necessary. Breakfast is very good and the room is clean and comfortable. We highly recommend this accommodation.

Rosa is a very helpful host - went way out to help us when we arrived. The room is clean and neat. Ample supply of breakfast items during our stay. You cannot ask for a better location than this. Basilica is across the street which is part if Vatican City. To colosseum, there is a direct bus 2 mins away which stops right in front of the colosseum. From colosseum, you can take the metro to the city attractions like Spanish steps, trevi fountain etc. Only shortfall Is that the wifi coverage in the room was not strong but Ms Rosa, upon hearing our comments apparently has already improved it. So good on you Ms Rosa!
