Extremely convenient and ideal location. Easy walking distance to Vatican. Friendly, accommodating staff. Rooms are nicely appointed and clean. Daily breakfast is wonderful. Rooftop terrace is charming and a nice quiet area to enjoy the evening. Location is ideal.

The Domus was great. Great location for the Vatican, comfortable rooms, great breakfast. Just what we were looking for and a good price. We would stay again. The only downside was the WIFI, while free, the process to get logged on was difficult and you had to go through the process every time you wanted to use it.

I stayed in this hotel for 4 nights for the Canonisations in Vatican City in April 2014. Everything was just perfect. I could not fault this hotel in any way. Accomodation, staff, food, location all great. I felt very welcome from the moment I arrived until the moment I left. I left my camera charger behind me in the bedroom and the staff posted it on to me. Will definately stay here again.

Room Tip: Check out the roof garden, very relaxing with excellent views.

Why do people get angry when they go to 3 star hotel? What do they expect? This hotel is great, people are nice, friendly and helpfull. Rooms are nice and clean and breakfast is like for kings. Everithing is close to the hotel . I advise you to call reception to arange you a taxi when arriving to the airport 'cause it is much cheeper. That's what we did. Enjoy....

Our tour group was booked into this hard-to-find hotel because of its proximity to the Vatican. It's sign is flat-mounted on a wall next the metal entrance gate--even some cab drivers had to look and look, but once inside, this hotel was ideal on many levels. Since papal audiences draw thousands of visitors, one must arrive quite early to get a seat. Buses can't get very close, and occasional transit strikes shut down the subways. From Domus Carmelitana, we were able to easily walk to the audience. The hotel entrance is downstairs, with very attentive staff who will fix you an espresso, sell you a beer or open your wine bottle. Our casement window overlooked the nearby Castel St. Angelo, and the hotel's huge roof garden offered views of St. Peter's Dome. The rooms are clean, basic, decent sized with high ceilings--and have everything you need, including hair dryers. Of note, however, the showers in the bathroom were pretty, er, compact. Another striking aspect of this hotel was the quiet of the surrounding streets--in contrast to much of Rome. Domus is neither luxurious nor fancy--but it is vintage Italian, secure and comfortable. The included hot breakfast offers everything from bacon & eggs to pastries. We would definitely recommend this hotel to visitors to Rome.

Room Tip: Ask for a room facing either St. Peters or Castel St. Angelo.
