We've been in this hotel for 2 nights for a week-end vacation. The hotel is located in the EUR area, really near an underground station. This is why the distance from the city center is not a problem. The hotel has a lot of rooms, well furnished eventhough ours was not so big, but comfortable anyway. The room was very silent, we could also drink 2 bottles of water offered by the hotel itself ! Everything was really clean, the staff at the reception was very kind and friendly. The first night we ate at the hotel's restaurant which was not big but the food was ok, with a double menu ( specifically roman and italian ! ). Free wireless access was provided asking the reception for credentials. In conclusion, good experience !

if you need a comfortable bed next to the congress centre, it will be ok.
rooms are not soundproofed, the bathroom is small but it will be ok for a quick business trip.
regarding the service, the staff is nice, friendly and useful regarding all the services you might need.
once again it was not sound proofed and there was a party in the hotel until 5.30am and none of my colleagues could sleep.
for the breakfast, ask the barman to serve you a coffee instead of taking one of the jug :)

On business in nearby cingress centre so can't really complain too much but really..... But This place could do with being completely refurbished and dragged into 21st century. Apparently the Sheraton isn't a lot better - as I said the location is the only reason this establishment can possibly stay open in its current state.

Good things first: most of the staff were great - very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good, and the meals served in the restaurant were simply delicious. I also liked the fact that it was just a short walk away from the train station, and thus easy access to the city centre without being in the city centre. Internet was fast and free. They have a prearranged taxi service to the airport, which is cheaper than a taking a taxi off the street.

The bad: No tea/coffee facilities in the room (gasp!). I can't remember the last time I was at a hotel that didn't have at least a kettle and tea and coffee, so I called reception to find out if the tea stuff had been mistakenly taken out. The receptionist said no, they did not provide those, and if I wanted coffee, I had to go downstairs to the bar. And no, they couldn't even have room service bring some up. I was dumbfounded.

There was not a single English language channel on the TV, which was rather irritating. Also there was no directory listing the channel numbers so you could easily tune to a channel without scrolling through all 50+ of them each time.

The other thing was the construction going on just outside the hotel. Whatever it is they are building, it looks like they'll be building it for a long time. It's MASSIVE. So if like me you're a light sleeper, you might want to look for another hotel or at least make sure you don't get a room on the building side. All in all, not fantastic, but I suppose you could do far worse than the Congressi.
