I have no idea what Carini's looked like before, but it is beautiful and spotless now. The bed was wonderful, and my room had a desk, flat screen, wifi, 2 balconies and closet. I was there in October and didn't need a/c, but there seemed to be a unit outside the room. The bathroom is super modern with nice, oversized towels. Breakfast was the usual packaged bread and delicious coffee. I've read that B & B's in Italy can only serve pre-packaged foods aside from the coffee. It is run by 2 women, one of whom speaks some English and the other tries hard. Both were very nice. The B & B is within walking distance of Trastevere and within an easy bus ride to the center of town. The area has some shops and restaurants but not so many that it's too noisy at night. I certainly would not suggest driving into Rome unless you have a pre-arranged parking spot. This is a B & B so be sure that you don't expect the amenities of a hotel.
